Microsoft’s Copilot functionality on all TVs reportedly slated to end in 2026

A notice on Windows Central reporter Zac Bowden’s LG TV says Microsoft has decided to end Copilot functionality on all TVs, The Verge reports. The Verge says the news came from the notice, not an official announcement from Microsoft, LG or Samsung.

The notice says Copilot is “scheduled for discontinuation during 2026” but gives no exact date, saying the timing is “subject to Microsoft’s timeline.” It also says the Copilot feature on Bowden’s TV “is no longer available and may stop functioning shortly.” The Verge’s account does not establish when Copilot will stop working on other TVs.

LG and Samsung announced at CES 2025 that their latest smart TVs would include access to Copilot, . The outlet describes the TV assistant as a way to chat, ask about what is on screen and get show or movie recommendations. It also reports that LG previously added a shortcut to Copilot’s web app through a webOS update, then allowed users to delete the shortcut after complaints.
