Meta used its Connect 2026 keynote to widen the scope of Muse, the personal AI agent it launched earlier in September. The company previewed Mac control, smart-glasses access, new shopping connectors and a dedicated pocket device called Muse Charm.
TechCrunch's account of the keynote says Muse will be able to operate apps on a Mac while work continues in the background. Meta also plans to give each agent its own email address, allowing users to forward messages or include the agent in a thread. The company did not give precise release dates for those capabilities.
Moving Muse beyond the app
Meta also plans to bring Muse to its smart glasses. The company says users will be able to speak to the agent through the glasses, assign tasks and receive a response when the work is finished. It described possible uses including logging meals, booking appointments and shopping for products a wearer can see, but said the glasses integration would arrive in the coming months.
Commerce is another focus. Meta announced connectors or partnerships involving Stripe, Shopify, PayPal, Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair, Expedia and Instacart. Those integrations matter because an agent's ability to shop depends on access granted by outside services, not only on what its model can do.
Charm is still a prototype
Muse Charm is Meta's attempt to give the agent a dedicated physical shortcut. The palm-sized device has a screen for Muse's Jolly avatar and a fingerprint sensor that starts a conversation without first unlocking a phone or opening an app. The Verge reported that the prototype also appears to include a small camera and several microphone openings.
Meta is targeting the December holidays, but Mark Zuckerberg said only a few units had been built and that the component layout and exterior material were still being finalized. The company has not announced a price, battery life or the device's exact connectivity. Those missing details make Charm a preview rather than a finished product launch.
