Teslarati describes a ducted-fan design that would speed up airflow beneath a car to add downforce, even at speeds where conventional aerodynamics produce little force. Teslarati says that, on a high-power Roadster, the added grip could help at launch and in slow corners. The patent says the expanding rear outlet could cut drag.
