Public Media Infrastructure (PMI) has launched as a successor to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), backed by a $57.9 million grant. Led by interim Executive Director Bob Kempf and a board chaired by LaFontaine Oliver, PMI aims to develop the next generation of digital content distribution infrastructure for over 1,300 public radio stations. The organization will focus on enhancing digital content distribution, audience measurement, and sponsorship technology, while maintaining core infrastructure such as satellite and emergency alert systems.
