Space-based solar power projects reportedly target tests in 2027 and 2028

A post says Overview Energy secured U.S. Army funding for a beacon meant to guide power beamed from solar-collecting satellites to a ground receiver. It says the company has tested wireless power transmission on the ground, plans a space trial in 2028 and targets commercial deployment beginning in 2030. The post also says Virtus Solis Technologies signed a 20-year electricity supply agreement with BAE Systems for a proposed 100 MW space-based solar plant, with a major test set for 2027.
