Researchers develop AI approach to guide clinical workups

Science says researchers developed an AI-based approach to assist physicians with clinical workups. It starts with a patient’s chief complaint, guides questions and decisions about laboratory and imaging tests, then continues the evaluation based on the answers received. The study, “Sequential diagnosis with language models,” appears in Science’s October 22 issue.
