SpaceX announces completion of Ship 42 static fires ahead of Starship Flight 15

SpaceX announced Oct. 28 that Ship 42, the Starship preparing for Flight 15, had completed its static fires. The company described a full-duration firing of all six engines and a separate firing of one Raptor engine to simulate a deorbit burn.

NASASpaceflight reported the single-engine test at SpaceX's Massey's site on Oct. 27. Later that day, it reported a six-engine test. NASASpaceflight's description of its six-engine stream puts that firing at 60 seconds; SpaceX called it “full duration” without specifying a time in its announcement.

SpaceX's announcement did not give a launch date for Flight 15.
