Elisar Priel reported on Oct. 9 that Starship prototype Ship 42 returned to Massey's after an overnight roll from the Starbase Production Site. Priel wrote that the visit should include cryogenic testing as part of the vehicle's preflight campaign. SpaceX has not confirmed the purpose of the latest visit in the attached sources.
NASASpaceflight reposted the update, but neither post supplied a test schedule or said that a new test had begun.
Ship 42 is a V3 upper-stage prototype expected to fly on Starship Flight 15, according to Next Spaceflight's hardware tracker. The tracker records that the vehicle completed a pair of cryogenic proof tests at the Massey outpost in early September. It says those tests were meant to verify the vehicle's structural integrity.
Those earlier tests provide context for the reported return, but the move alone does not establish what SpaceX will test or when. For now, the visit is a reported step in Ship 42's preflight campaign, not a launch-date announcement.
