Fetch offers the most comprehensive pet insurance and health advice for dogs and cats. The company is trusted by the top no-kill shelters in the U.S. and Canada, and is the exclusive pet insurance provider for AARP members.
Coverage
Fetch offers the most extensive coverage compared to other companies. They handle all new accidents and illnesses, without restrictions for hereditary or congenital conditions, medications, advanced testing, hospital stays, rehabilitative care, and holistic therapies. And they provide coverage for behavioral treatments, which many other providers don't cover at all. They also cover all non-routine veterinary exam fees, including those at emergency and specialist vets.
Fetch has comprehensive dental coverage, including for periodontal disease and treatments for every tooth in the mouth, not just the canines like some other providers. Finally, they cover curable pre-existing conditions after the 365 day exclusionary period after your policy becomes active, which is something many other providers won't do. Also, there are no restrictions on vet selection.
Fetch's maximum annual payouts can range from $5,000 to unlimited. Like other pet insurance policies, Fetch will pay a percentage of your vet bill after you've met your deductible. The reimbursement rates you can choose from are 70%, 80%, and 90%, and cat owners can select a deductible of $250, $300, or $400, while dog owners can select a deductible of $300, $500, or $700.
You can enroll your pets as young as six weeks, and there's no upper age limit. The waiting period for illnesses is up to 15 days.
Pricing
Fetch determines the most accurate pricing based on your pet's breed, age, and your location. They offer more coverage than any other provider, but that means they're not the cheapest. Starting monthly premiums for dogs and cats can be as low as $19.66, and there are discounts available for shelter and rescue adopters, veterinarians, veterinary employees, active military, and veterans.
Lastly, Fetch is one of the only pet insurance companies to state a claims payout timeframe in their terms and conditions, which is 30 days. However, most claims are reimbursed much faster than that, typically within a week or two. Their customer service is available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your policy or claims.
