Breaking on Deadline: Phase I of the Legion M Film Fund is NOW LIVE

Yesterday morning, we officially and publicly announced the Legion M Film Fund, with coverage in IndieWire and Deadline. This marks a major milestone in our continued expansion into film distribution and a meaningful step toward our long-term vision of becoming a fully independent, fan-owned studio.

We first shared this news internally with the Legion M community several weeks ago, and the response was incredibly encouraging. In a very short period of time, largely driven by a single email, we drew more than $1 million in reservations for the new fund. More than anything, that response confirmed what we suspected: This is a welcome and timely step in our evolution together. 

There Are Now Three Ways to Invest in Legion M Films

Many of you are already familiar with, and have invested in, the first two options below. With the launch of the Film Fund, we are now adding a third way to invest, designed to complement the others and give our community more choice.

INVEST IN LEGION M (THE STUDIO)
Own stock in Legion M itself and invest like a venture capitalist, with potential upside tied to the long-term success of the studio through an IPO or other liquidity event.

INVEST IN A MOVIE
Invest directly in a specific film and participate in the financial performance of that individual title.

INVEST IN THE LEGION M FILM FUND (NEW)
The Film Fund adds a new way to invest by focusing on film distribution. It is designed to take more conservative positions with slower, steadier returns that can compound over time. By Hollywood standards, this is a lower risk, capped reward investment that spreads capital across multiple films. Returns are intended to automatically roll forward from one distribution opportunity to the next, creating a portfolio-style approach to the investment.

What Happens Next

Right now, the Legion M Film Fund is open under Reg D (which has a higher minimum and is open to accredited investors only). In the coming weeks, we will open a Reg CF component (with a lower minimum) so all members of the Legion M community can participate.

If you've previously made a reservation, there's nothing you need to do at this time. When the Reg CF investment is officially open, we will contact you to complete your investment, if you so choose (reservations are non-binding). However, if you haven't made a reservation, please do so now, so you can secure a spot, as these reservations are treated on a first come, first served basis and may fill up if we reach our cap. With more than $1,000,000 already reserved, we anticipate that this opportunity will sell out quickly once it opens, and in the past we have had investment opportunities that have reached their cap on reservations alone (as in the case with William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill).

We believe this new fund strengthens the entire Legion M ecosystem and brings us one step closer to building a sustainable, independent studio powered by fans.
