About

Welcome to the digital front porch of the Gateway City. This is the dedicated home for Laredo, Texas on Digg, a place for locals, expats, and neighbors to connect over what matters in their town. Life on the border is unique, and Laredo deserves a community that gets it.

We are here to curate the best of the border: discussions on local development, updates on bridge traffic and trade, and the never-ending search for the city’s best tacos. Whether you’re looking for a serious discussion on city policy or just want to know what’s happening this weekend, you’ll find it here.

From the banks of the Rio Grande to the loop, we are building a community to share verified news (less chisme, more facts), discuss the future of our city, and celebrate our bicultural heritage. Pull up a chair and join the conversation!

Community Guidelines

To keep this space useful and welcoming for everyone in the Gateway City, please follow these rules:

  1. Keep it Local (Relevance): Posts must be related to Laredo, Webb County, or the immediate border region. National news is only allowed if it has a direct local impact.

  2. Be Civil (Respeto): We are a community of neighbors. Disagreements are fine, but personal attacks, harassment, or hate speech will not be tolerated.

  3. English & Spanish Welcome: Se habla español. Posts and comments in English, Spanish, or Spanglish are all encouraged.

  4. No Doxxing: Laredo is a small "big town." Strictly no posting of private addresses, personal phone numbers, or non-public information about private citizens.

  5. Sources vs. Chisme: If you are sharing news, please link to a reliable source. Unverified rumors about serious topics (crime, safety) may be removed.

  6. No Spam: Local businesses may share major announcements (like a grand opening) once, but repetitive advertising is not allowed.
