Plant envy is real

I’m used to treating crotons as fussy houseplants lol, and here in southern China they’re grown beautifully as outdoor ornaments. Look at those colors and it’s “winter”! Anyone else get plant envy when your high‑maintenance houseplant is just background greenery somewhere el

Succulents as houseplants?

Hot take… I don’t recommend succulents as indoor plants unless you’re willing to give them a grow light. I know they’re cute, tiny, & everyone says they’re “easy,” but most homes just don’t get enough real sunlight to keep them happy. What usually happens is they slowly stretc

First time plant parent?

If you’re just getting into houseplants & don’t want to cry over a crispy leaf every week, start here. These are a few of my suggestions for forgiving, low-drama plants: • Snake plant – thrives on neglect. Little water… whatever light. Tons of varieties to collect! • Pothos –

Ok ok! Truth time! 👀 I cannot keep a freaking calathea alive! I use a humidifier, I’ve tried keeping them under a cloche / cabinet… I’ve had one for a year or so but she’s down to 4 leaves and hasn’t grown in forever. Y’all have any tips?

So dreamy…

Missing this big girl that was in my little shop. I closed my tiny, 400 sq ft plant + gift shop a little over a year ago and I still think about all the amazing plants I got to work with everyday… maybe I need a side hustle with plants again. 😍

My grow light is running on stored sunlight and I find that unreasonably satisfying

Finally did the research on why all my plants have been getting leggy and struggling compared to five years ago. Turns out my place just doesn't have enough light. So I'm upping my grow light game. While I wait for USB extensions to arrive to properly power everything, I'm using

The Underrated Spider Plant

Spider plants are one of those houseplants that want to be shared! They’re incredibly easy to care for — they tolerate missed waterings, adapt to a range of light (bright indirect is best, but they’re forgiving), and they’re non-toxic to pets. They’re also known for helping f

Moss Poles 💡

I just wanted to share a tip on moss poles. These are wayyy better to use than anything with a wooden insert. Eventually the wood will rot and removing your plants from moss poles after years of growth can do some damage to the roots. Unsolicited plant advice for today. ☺
