[Idea] It looks like many Groundbreakers are disappointed in how the launch was conducted. What about all early Digg adopters unite and help boosting each other's second-tier-handle communities by joining them?

I'm sure there won't that many. Some groundbreakers were lucky and got what they wanted. For those who were late to the party, I could do some spreadsheet. If you write a comment with your current second-tier-handle-late-to-the-party community name, I could add it with your usern

I thought groundbreakers had their own community created by digg admins?

Didn't they?

Keeping the spark alive

About

I created Groundbreakers because something about the last 9 months on Digg felt special — like a bunch of people showing up for the same unspoken reason: to build something good, something different.

Now that the site has gone public, it feels like that energy’s already getting a bit lost in the noise. Not blaming anyone — growth changes things — but I’ve already noticed more heat, less heart. And I guess I just didn’t want us to lose what made this place feel alive in the first place.

This isn’t about “we were here first” or any kind of gatekeeping. It’s more like trying to keep a little corner of what made the beta great — curiosity, good faith, and that sense of shared purpose.

I’m not even totally sure what this space will become yet, but it felt important to make it — just to see if that original spark still connects with people.

Community Guidelines

  • Share ideas, not attacks. Debate is great — that’s how ideas grow — but challenge the thought, not the person.

  • Keep it respectful. Disagreement doesn’t have to get personal. Assume good intent where you can.

  • Be constructive. If you’re pointing out a problem, try to offer a possible way forward too.

  • Stay curious. Ask questions, explore perspectives, and remember why we’re here — to build something better.

  • Welcome new voices. Original Groundbreakers or not, everyone who shows up in good faith belongs here.

  • Keep the noise down. No spam, no performative outrage, and no posting just for the sake of posting.

  • Language matters. Swearing’s fine — venom isn’t. Passion > hostility.
