Two maps, a faster battle royale, and four weapons
Season 5 opens with Vegas Strip and Area 51. Vegas Strip mixes casinos, streets, hotel towers, storm drains, and vehicle combat, while Area 51 spans a desert surface and close-quarters tunnels beneath the base.
REDSEC adds Rapid Royale, a shorter battle royale format with smaller lobbies, valuable airdrops, and a faster-moving ring. Ranked Battle Royale also leaves Battlefield Labs for its official launch. The update adds the Mk 24 assault rifle, RSPR personal defense weapon, Z84M light machine gun, and ELR-40 sniper rifle, along with a new Battle Pass and Multiplayer Leaderboards.
The patch reaches beyond the new season
Update 2.1.1.0 also adjusts vehicle and anti-air balance, Battle Royale class equipment, Spectator Mode, Portal creation tools, weapons, interface elements, audio, and stability. EA says the vehicle changes are intended to make anti-air systems more reliable while reducing the power of light aircraft against infantry.
A limited-time Battlefield 6 and Dead Space event begins October 20. EA's Season 5 roadmap schedules the Casino Heist update for November 10 and Frozen Aces for December 8. A full-game trial is set for PlayStation and Steam from October 15 through 19.
