For the second time this year, Steam has set a major new concurrent user record

Steam reached a reported all-time high of 43,505,724 concurrent logged-in users in October. Kotaku, citing Eurogamer's account of SteamDB figures, says that was the first time the service crossed 43 million.

That total covers accounts logged into Steam, not only people actively playing. SteamDB counted 14.5 million users in-game when the broader record was set, also a record and roughly 500,000 above the previous in-game peak.

October marked Steam's third concurrent-login record of 2026. The platform passed 42 million in January, raised the peak by about another half-million in March, then crossed 43 million in October.
