Baldur's Gate 3 estimated at 23.2 million copies sold and more than $1.2 billion in revenue

GLITCHED's reported breakdown puts 18.7 million copies on Steam, approximately 80.6% of the estimated total. It puts 2.9 million on PlayStation 5 and 1.6 million on Xbox. The game entered Steam early access in October 2020, then received its full PC release in August 2023. PlayStation 5 followed in September and Xbox in December 2023.

The report also attributes player activity estimates to Alinea: approximately 2.2 million monthly active players in September 2026 and an estimated 280,000 to 400,000 daily players across PC and consoles. It puts the number of Steam players who have spent more than 500 hours in the game at just under 200,000.

The revenue estimate is not an estimate of Larian's profit. As GLITCHED notes, it does not account for development, marketing, platform fees and other expenses.
