Steam Store reportedly had problems on October 21, 2026

Insider Gaming posted at 14:17 UTC on Oct. 21, 2026, that the Steam Store was offline. Eleven minutes later, Pirat_Nation wrote that some users were reporting trouble logging in, making purchases and downloading updates, while Steam was still online for many. The account said it did not look like a complete global outage.

At 14:42 UTC, the GamesRadar account also posted that the Store had gone down.

Grant Taylor-Hill’s Insider Gaming status guide listed Steam as “ONLINE” as of 10:23 a.m. ET, after the outlet’s Store-offline post. The guide did not give a Store-specific reading for that time, so its broader Steam status does not settle what was happening with the Store.
