‘Dune: Part Three’ reportedly takes BFI IMAX first-day presale record with 33,000 tickets

Deadline reported Oct. 21 that London’s BFI IMAX sold 33,000 advance tickets for ‘Dune: Part Three’ in 24 hours, grossing more than £880,000 and setting a first-day presale record for the venue. The figures describe advance sales at one theater, not tickets sold across the U.K.

In Deadline’s first-day presale ranking, ‘Dune: Part Three’ leads ‘The Odyssey,’ listed at £750,000. The Hollywood Reporter also identifies ‘The Odyssey’ as the previous record-holder.

The new tally follows earlier sellouts for specific shows. Deadline reported that three opening-weekend screenings sold out in under an hour in April 2026 and two previews sold out earlier in October. As of its Oct. 21 report, the venue planned to begin IMAX 70mm previews of ‘Dune: Part Three’ on Dec. 15, 2026. Deadline also listed returns of ‘Dune’ and ‘Dune: Part Two’ from Dec. 11.
