Lauren Sanchez refuses Jacob as next James Bond
Looks like Wuthering Heights heartthrob Jacob Elordi won't be the next James Bond.
Rumors have been spreading quickly about who will become the next James Bond, and one surprising name has been circulating in Hollywood this week — Lauren Sanchez.
However, the 56-year-old wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is not preparing to step into the spotlight as a gender-swapped version of 007. Instead, speculation suggested that Sanchez had been given significant influence in choosing the actor who will replace Daniel Craig in the legendary role.
The claim originated from entertainment journalist Rob Shuter, who wrote on Substack that Sanchez had become a “quiet boss” within the Bond franchise after Bezos purchased MGM Studios in 2022. According to Shuter, decisions at Amazon MGM Studios now depend heavily on her approval.
But insiders have since rejected those reports, calling them unrealistic Hollywood gossip. One source stated plainly that Sanchez is neither selecting the next James Bond nor positioning herself to appear as a Bond girl.
Shuter had also alleged that Sanchez envisioned a Bond who is polished, charming, and globally appealing, suggesting that actor Jacob Elordi — often considered a strong candidate — did not match that image.
The Daily Mail reports that rumors of Lauren Sanchez, wife of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos, having a say in the selection of the next James Bond are unfounded. Insiders have dismissed the notion that Sanchez will be involved in the casting process, contrary to earlier claims by journalist Rob Shuter. Sanchez has no plans to become a Bond girl either, except perhaps for Halloween. The next James Bond casting speculation continues with names like Tom Cruise, James McAvoy, and Henry Cavill being considered.
