A new Disney+ special for 'The Princess and the Frog' is reportedly in active production

Disney Animation's Jared Bush confirmed that a new The Princess and the Frog special for Disney+ is in active production, Collider reports, citing its interview with him. The outlet says the special will feature original cast members and new songs.

Collider describes a complete musical story set in Tiana and Naveen's world, rather than a series of shorts. It is distinct from the planned Tiana Disney+ series, which Disney shelved in March 2025, Marcus Bell reports for The Disney Scoop.

Bell reports that Bush did not give a premiere date or runtime, and Disney had not named the returning cast members or new songwriters.
