JoBlo reported on September 15, 2026, that Universal and Blumhouse Atomic Monster bought Joshua Giuliano’s survival slasher “River” for $10 million-plus at TIFF. IndieWire said a day earlier that the companies were closing a deal to buy the film from Independent Film Company and Shudder, with sources saying it could sell for more than $10 million.
