'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' Season 3 Talks Could Bring New Writers and Titans

Apple TV and Legendary Television are discussing a third season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Deadline reported Oct. 29. Variety also reports talks. Neither report announces a renewal.

If the show returns, it could have a different creative team and new Titans from Legendary’s Monsterverse. Deadline reports that a search is underway for writers and a showrunner to take over from the team behind the first two seasons. Chris Black, who co-created the series with Matt Fraction, served as showrunner for Season 2. Variety reports that multiple people have been approached about potentially taking over. Both outlets describe new Titans as part of the proposed third season.

Variety has no word on whether characters from the first two seasons would continue. The separate spinoff starring Wyatt Russell as Lee Shaw remains in the works, Variety reports. The Hollywood Reporter says the potential changes to Monarch would not affect that prequel, which has Joby Harold as its showrunner.
