Apple TV has renewed its darkly comedic thriller “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed” for a second season. Tatiana Maslany stars as Paula, a newly divorced mother whose attempt to investigate a crime pulls her into a story involving blackmail, murder, a custody battle and youth soccer. Jake Johnson co-stars as her ex-husband, Karl.
Deadline reports that a writers room is already underway and production is slated for the first half of 2027. The renewal announcement did not include a premiere date.
Creator and showrunner David J. Rosen writes and executive produces the series. David Gordon Green directed and executive produced its first season, while Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon and Bard Dorros are also executive producers. The ensemble includes Murray Bartlett, Dolly De Leon, Brandon Flynn, Jessy Hodges, Jon Michael Hill, Charlie Hall, Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg and Nola Wallace.
Rosen thanked Apple, the cast and crew for the chance to continue the story, adding that the show's title came from a spam email. The complete first season is streaming on Apple TV.
