Creating a Digg community has made me a happier person! (A love note to Digg)
This is meant to be a light hearted and cheesy post reflecting on how a whole week-ish of managing my tiny community here has had positive results in my daily life.
Ask questions❓: I really understood the drive for community through the community. People were posting open questions everyone could find something to say about, and then community members thoughtfully responded. It inspired me to want to create the same culture around sketching. Now, I find myself being a little more inquisitive and an “active listener” IRL conversations
Take Photos 📸: Quickly I found that posts with photos get a different kind of engagement. It's helped me think of how I can frame moments of my life with images. Social Media gets a bad rap for only showing strangers ‘highlight reels’, but taking a moment to romanticize my life is helping me appreciate it.
Reach out: 👍 I am usually a lurker on Social Media, but I’ve already put as much time into this site than I have on other platforms combined. It's causing me to learn how to use technology better, and ask for help (ok, mostly Google search) things I want answers to. I can sit frustrated, or I can figure it out!
So thanks digg team & consider this my love letter to the site!
What have you learned while trying to create a community (a literal digg/commmunity, or a general feeling of community) here?
(See me asking questions, stealing photos from Google, and reaching out to invite you to , lol)
