    I am not sure this teaches what "fairness" means. It seems to be teaching the evils of equal distribution of resources... sort of a 1950's anti communism lesson. More like "everybody gets a bandaid to use as they see fit" is fair but "everybody gets a bandaid except little Billy who is sitting in a seat that I don't like" is not fair.
