A Philly startup's 'funeral registry' service aims to help families with end-of-life expenses
There are SO many startups aimed at getting people to preplan/fund funerals. The preplanning is the only thing that sets them apart from "GoFundme." I always feel like this energy could be better directed.
GiveWillow, a Philadelphia-based startup, aims to alleviate the financial and logistical burdens families face during end-of-life events by offering a 'funeral registry' service. Inspired by the founder's personal experience with her father's death, GiveWillow allows individuals to request specific, practical help and financial contributions, normalizing the conversation around death and offering a more supportive alternative to traditional gifts.
