HireAHelper analyzed official migration figures from a number of countries and search data from Google to uncover the top destinations for Americans moving abroad in 2023, as well as which places are growing fastest overall. Here's what they found.
Key Findings:

The country that welcomed the most Americans this year was the UK (around 21,900), followed by Mexico (19,620).

Thirty percent more Americans relocated to the UK in the first half of 2023 than they did in the same period last year.

Portugal and New Zealand are the fastest-growing destinations for Americans moving abroad, with the number of people moving from the US growing 195 percent and 146 percent between 2019 and 2022, respectively.

The number of Americans that relocated to European countries in 2022 was 22 percent higher than in the previous year, at 100,320.
