Global gross domestic product (GDP), the world's total economic output, is expected to reach $105 trillion by the end of 2023 β that's $5 trillion more than last year, according to the International Monetary Fund. The below graphic by Visual Capitalist shows how countries around the world contribute to the year's total figure.
Key Findings:

The US remains the world's biggest economy, with a projected GDP of $26.9 trillion for 2023. The country's total economic output is larger than the sum of every country ranked from Indonesia (17th) to Tuvalu (191st).

The next three largest economies β China, Japan and Germany β have also maintained their positions from last year.

India is expected to knock the UK out of fifth place in 2023. The country's GDP is predicted to reach $3.7 trillion this year, surpassing the UK's projected GDP of $3.1 trillion.
