The holidays are here, and with them come lots of opportunities to drink booze (and perhaps too much of it). BuzzRx surveyed more than a thousand Americans β including baby boomers, Gen X, millennials and Gen Z β to find out how they consume alcohol during the holidays.
Key Findings:
-
More than three in 10 respondents said they expect to binge drink on New Year's Eve.
-
Of the parents of minors surveyed, over one in seven plan to binge drink on Christmas Eve.
-
Wine (60 percent) is the most popular booze of choice during the holidays, followed by mixed drinks (53 percent).
-
Almost half of Gen Zers reported that they consume larger quantities of alcohol to feel more comfortable at social events.
-
Twelve percent of Americans, including one in six Gen Xers, said they drink during the holidays to help them deal with difficult family members.
