On Wednesday, during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, former president Donald Trump asserted he could declassify documents just by thinking about it.

"If you're the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, 'it's declassified' — even by thinking about it," Trump said.

Trump's quip captured the imagination of late night television, making the rounds on every late night show.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

"Let's say he telepathically declassified everything, like he was wearing a treason Cerebro," Stephen Colbert said. "That means he thinks it's a good idea, somehow, for everyone to know foreign nuclear secrets and, somehow, getting all the names of America's undercover spies out there. How is that better?!"

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"If Trump actually had the power to change things just by thinking about them, Don Jr. would have turned into a Big Mac 30 years ago," said Jimmy Kimmel.

Late Night With Seth Meyers

"I mean, even if it was true that the law said you could declassify something just by thinking about it, all a judge would have to do is look into Trump's eyes and immediately rule that there’s just nothing going on in there," exclaimed Seth Meyers.

The Daily Show With Trevor Noah

"So Trump is saying that he declassified these documents just by thinking about it, which I don't even believe, because that would be the first time in his life that Trump has thought something and not said it out loud!" Trevor Noah said.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

"Hannity was like, 'Oh, I get it, you're going to plead insanity,'" Jimmy Fallon said.
