Two vehicles crushed by tree, schools closed following weekend storms | Region Canberra
Two drivers in Kingston had a narrow escape when a tree fell on their vehicles on Monday (9 February). The incident occurred at about 9 am on Wentworth Avenue, at Telopea Park, blocking two lanes. Both drivers sustained minor injuries but managed to exit their vehicles. The recent storms in Canberra may have contributed to the tree's collapse. The ACT's State Emergency Service responded to 124 calls for help over the weekend, with one still outstanding. Schools in the area were closed due to extensive damage and flooding.
