Verena Rieser gives EMNLP keynote on value alignment

Verena Rieser, a Google DeepMind researcher, described giving an Oct. 26 EMNLP 2026 keynote on value alignment and said the Q&A engagement was her favorite part. Google Research had promoted the talk with a question about anchoring autonomous AI agents to core values. On Oct. 27, it said she was headed to a panel to continue discussing agent reliability, trust and deployment; its post did not report a panel outcome.
