My work on sparse neural retrieval just got accepted to MICES 2026. @krotenWanderung from @qdrant_engine will present:

“Fine-Tuning Sparse Neural Retrievers for E-Commerce Is Not That Scary (And Often Worth It)”.

Pretty dope (and a bit surreal) seeing research that started with just an idea about SPLADE + hard negative mining turn into published research!

Big shoutout to @charles_irl from @modal for the cheap and fast training, and the article from Charles, @jxnlco + @ivanleomk on training dense models that I built this research on.
