Bumblebee and Numbat feed findings to Computer, with humans approving rule changes

Perplexity said in May 2026 that it was open-sourcing Bumblebee, a read-only scanner for developer machines. In September, it said Numbat monitors coding agents across thousands of its endpoints and can detect sequences such as reading a secret before sending data out. Computer reviews findings from both tools and proposes better detection rules; humans approve every change before it ships, the company says.
