Mistral releases open-weight Mistral Large 4 model with ~1T parameters

Mistral reportedly put Large 4's weights on Hugging Face on October 29. The roughly one-trillion-parameter model reportedly activates about 49 billion parameters per token, accepts image and text input, and has a one-million-token context window. Its modified MIT license reportedly permits commercial use and fine-tuning but requires model-as-a-service providers to arrange separate terms with Mistral. Reported benchmark results rank it first among open-weight models on FrontierCode 2.0 and Terminal-Bench 4.0.
