OpenCode announces Claude subscription access

OpenCode announced on Oct. 30, 2026 that people can now use their Claude subscriptions in OpenCode. The announcement quoted an earlier post by DanielSmolsky, who wrote, “@claudeai subscriptions in @opencode are back!” Neither post explained why the earlier post called the option “back.” OpenCode’s announcement did not specify which subscription plans qualify.

On Oct. 31, theo quote-posted OpenCode’s announcement, writing, “Nice to see Anthropic loosening the grip on the sub a bit.” That was theo’s interpretation. Neither OpenCode’s nor DanielSmolsky’s post described a change to Anthropic’s policy.
