Update 9/21/2022: Demi announced that he would no longer be making new videos, and the 2021 music video was his last.

If you're here, you probably already know what this is: comedian, writer for "The Amber Ruffin Show" and all-around talent Demi Adejuyigbe has released his sixth elaborate September 21 music video set to (or reinterpreting, as the case may be) Earth, Wind & Fire's iconic song "September."

The song goes, "Do you remember, 21st night of September?" We have to be honest: we literally never did, until Demi started releasing these videos beginning in 2016. Now, here's this year's masterpiece, in which Demi undeniably tops even last year's phenomenal stunt.

But please: if you haven't seen his previous videos, I beg of you, skip this new one and come back to it once you've watched his first five, which you can find in this post below. ("Five videos?!" you say. "That's so many videos." To which I say: you're already taking a break from work poking around Digg. Just do it. They're short and so, so worth it.)

These videos aren't only for fun, though: Demi is also fundraising for some worthwhile causes, and this year, the funds he wants to bring awareness to are Imagine Water Works, a Hurricane Ida mutual aid relief fund, the West Fund, a non-profit for abortion access in Texas, and the Sunrise Movement, a climate change advocacy group. To that end, Demi is raffling off a September 21-related painting that he will hand-deliver to its winner anywhere in the world once it's safe to travel. You can buy as many raffle tickets as you please here.

And now for the history: whether you're new to Demi's videos or you just want to refresh your memory, let's back up.

2016

On September 21, 2016, Demi posted a video featuring him dancing to "September" wearing a shirt he'd made to honor the song and commemorate the day, with "SEPT 21" on the front and "THAT'S TODAY" on the back. Simple but delightful, especially since he edited the song to linger on and repeat the date.

2017

On September 21, 2017, Demi got a little more festive.

2018

September 21, 2018, is when things started getting serious — the first time Demi brought in some accompaniment.

2019

The video released on September 21, 2019, retained its homespun charm but included some, ah, special effects.

2020

On September 21, 2020, we were mid-pandemic and still vaccineless. Demi didn't have to do anything for us. But he did. He came through big time.
