Give us either more game functionality or better media playback people! I want my damn 360 or PS3 to make my Xbox 1 with XBMC retire, but no, it's still by far the best option for media playback in my loungeroom :(
If anything the 360 UI should copy the PS3, it's very very quick and easy to navigate and with the right theme surprisingly easy on the eye. - abrasion, on 07/02/2008, -1/+10I love video games, single player ones with good storylines. I love them more than a good movie, a good book or a good TV show. A great SP game with a good story is a beautiful thing, so much fun and potential engrossment into the media.
I do not like games with 'now finish the same level, running backwards, with only the spitball gun on insane difficulty for a 'trophie!!''
Now finish it again but in 30 seconds for ANOTHER SHINY TROPHY!!

- HumanRecalled, on 07/02/2008, -2/+8Don't really care to be honest ...as a Canadian all i want is to be able to buy view/preview NEW and OLD movies in the amount the U.S has ( united states has like 475 ! ) We Canadians got 145 if were lucky and 100 of them are in the 70's era not even 480p quality !
And be able to view said previews before buying a movie correctly besides trying to squint ( yes ,even on my 1080 p46 inch LCD screen ) with little 3 inch x4 box with horrible pixelated footage !
It's been almost 1 year since the announcement at last E3 that we were getting Movie option and we have yet to get TV shows or Music videos !! Very frustrating considering Apple allows all these options via Itunes now in Canada !! ........Why can't Microsoft ?
Heres an idea drop that ***** DRM ***** and region blockers have more HD content !! We all live in North America BTW !!!! ..and how about a ***** browser ( we are borderline there now with MSN crap !! ).....so we can view video sites like youtube and dailymotion and break etc and really make this a complete entertainment unit !!
And wheres the codecs M$ promised i still gotta use a 3rd party app to stream data !! WTF !! Total BS !

The actual interface works, it just looks like some retarded twelve year old has applied a bunch of photoshop tutorials to it. They don't really need to move anything just "re-skin" it to look a bit more professional.
- tendonut, on 07/02/2008, -1/+6I call BS on that. The XBL sound quality is barely better than tin can and string. How can that be eating up any bandwidth at all? I myself using my own DSL connection can host a 8-person Ventrilo server using a very high quality codec without it effecting my overall connection speed and giving the 8 people pings under 60.
- CrimsonBlur, on 07/02/2008, -7/+12Better than the PS3. Sony thinks the XMB is the ultimate user interface when in reality it is crap. The XMB is nice for a handheld device or an HDTV where all you're doing is selecting options from lists, but it doesn't fly for a console. The XBOX 360 blade system is far superior in just about every way imaginable.

- apoc06, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3i agree with you. a console is a console and should act as such. the added features are nice, but too often they take away the focus of gaming. gaming functions that need to be addressed should be finished first before adding entertainment value addins.

the wonderful thing ab trophies and acheivements is... [drumroll]... you dont need to use them. games can be completed and enjoyed without requiring you to get every single acheivement or trophy. it was novel at first, but i havent cared about my gamerscore in over a year now. the trophy system seems nice, but if theres no payoff other than bragging rights, i dont see them being useful.
hell, would it be /that/ hard to incorporate the trophy/ achievement systems into a form of discount system when purchasing DLC? - inajeep, on 07/02/2008, -1/+4I wish they used the camera for the controls. I don't really want to buy yet another peripheral that I won't use.
