He should call his local news station, they'd be all over this.
PS. Of course the first place he goes is a pawn shop, there's no better way to get caught.
While I'd rather the police be out busting violent people, when the victim has evidence and a way to track a burgler, it's annoying as all ***** that the police don't care. Protect and serve, my ass.
Philly is a *****. They boo their own football team and I wouldn't expect any different behavior in all it's criminal stupidity from their average citizen (don't agree with me look at their crime rate). With that being said I would follow the internet meme and tell police you met this guy and you beat him half to death and your afraid for his life. If our not willing to say that then look up your local laws for false reports and push them to the limit. Once a cop gets there tell him and show him what is up. Either that or arrange a meeting with him and get your friend to stand in while you sneak up behind him and beat him to death with his own shoes. Chances are the police won't help you, so maybe Bronson is the way to be.
May the Eagles lose every game this year, which is probable considering their lack of talent at the receiver position.
Wow, what an idiot. I've seen some stupid criminals before, but this one is high up on the list. If the police won't help you, I'd suggest you arrange to "buy" your 360 back, and take care of things in person. If the police do help you, set it up for them and let them handle it. Either way, offering you the chance to buy it back is gonna get him caught. Thankfully.
What really annoys me is how unresponsive the police are being. They should have more than enough to get this stupid *****. (Based on that voice message I doubt this guy even graduated high school)
If you're reading this, take it to the local media. They will eat this up! Not only do they have a story to run featuring a victim becoming his own detective, but they have pictures and audio to run with as well. I'm sure they couldn't pass up the chance to catch lazy police detectives on a donut break...
"mY eFFinG xBoX brOkE sO i WoNt bE oN fOr aWhILe iF u NeEd Me SEnD mE a MeSsAgE aS lOnG aS iT aiNt vOiCe I wiLl GeT iT"
- it looks like he solved this problem by creating an even bigger problem... don't drop the soap bitch!
Anyone got info for the police station and/or local news? If the police get inundated they might actually do something, and regardless I'm sure the media would like this story.
OK, so i posted on the 360 Forum to see if anyone could help this guy, and i got this reply....
"I checked out his gamer profile and it looks like Mr. Dumbass goes by KINGSIKE11 as well. A google search for that turned up his ghetto YouTube profile, featuring him trying to rap -----http://www.youtube.com/user/KINGSIKE11----took this off the page.lol. i would beat this kid silly" - MISBELIEF
Nothing wrong with cyber sleuthing!!! Can any1 back this up??
I hate to hear how inept police forces are at catching theft like this. The man takes time out of his day to research and hunt around only to go to the police with the smoking gun and have them shun him off. It's reasons like this that police officers don't get the respect from the yungens like they used to.
It's a shame that to get the police to do anything, you have to do your own detective work. You can deliver the guy right to the police, and even then, it's hit or miss. Reminds me of that Stolen Sidekick story a while ago. The only way to get justice is to grow a mob of supporters on the internet, which would lead to media attention that highlights the ineptitude of law enforcement, and only then, out of embarrassment and desire to stop bad press, will they do their job.
That's one of those times you wish, WISH you had been there.
Kicking that little *****'s ass and waiting for the cops to take him away? Priceless.
All the guy can do now is go down there Monday morning. In the scheme of things, this is pretty minor, and detectives are overworked as it is, so it can take some time.
I've had a laptop stolen before and I wish there was a way to find out if your computer MAC ID ever appeared on the internet / if there was a way to search the internet for that kind of communication information.
I know my old stolen laptop's MAC ID, but nothing else besides serial numbers for it and etc. Basically yeah, if I want my laptop back I have to find it for the police and provide enough evidence to prosecute them. Jolly grand right?
Those that know me are aware that my house was burglarized on March 12th while I was returning from SXSW. For the uninitiated, my house was broken into around 2:30-3:00pm and they made off with my xbox 360, an old powerbook (which they grabbed the wrong charger for) and ripped my TV right off the wall. Needless to say it was ***** news to come home to, but things can be replaced and I was happy that my dog, who was downstairs at the time, wasn't hurt.
Knowing full well that the detectives couldn't be counted on to "search" for the stolen items I took it upon myself to call around to the local pawn shops and the very first one I called (Thanks Google Maps!) recalled a young white man who came in trying to sell a G4 Powerbook but the battery was dead and he didn't have the right charger (clue 1) so he decided not to buy it. He also noted that the screen wouldn't stay up on its own (clue 2), which is the reason it was replaced with a MBP. I immediately knew it was the laptop that was taken from my house and started asking about cameras in the store and if they would be willing to let me somehow get a picture of this guy. The guy working there wasn't sure how to get the images off the security system machine so I took down a digital camera and got some second hand shots off the monitor as well as some video.
Take a little look:

After getting these photos I tried contacting the detectives for my case and waiting around for 3+ hours and no one ever showed up. That was a week ago and I still haven't heard anything. This kid is most likely some local punk and is probably easily identifiable to "the man", I'm practically solving my case for them.
Then I'm left speechless...
While getting ready to leave work on Friday the 21st my office is swarmed by some of the greatest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with who proceed to present me with a brand new xbox 360 and a copy of halo 3. The kindness of my coworkers made my day and made me proud to work side by side with them all. However this is only where the excitement begins...
Really, How stupid can you be?
I eventually hook up the new xbox (to my 20" replacement TV) @ 4am and as soon as I recover my xbox live account I receive a voice message from someone I don't know.
Have a listen, I'll wait: idiot.mp3
Ready? OK. So this guy decided to leave me a voice message explicitly stating that he stole my Halo edition xbox 360 and that I could buy it back from him. Are you ***** kidding me? First thing I checked is whether or not it was a new account and sure enough the account shows usage back to 2007 and I'm willing to bet that it's his personal account and will have his info associated with it. I wasn't sure what to do so I tried calling East Detectives and was basically told to call back M-F during normal business hours, while I was on the phone I received TWO more messages from the culprit and explained to the person on the other end of the phone that I was now being harassed by the person who robbed my house and was hung up on.
GOOD JOB PHILADELPHIA POLICE, Gold Stars all around!
A little off topic, but why have Americans started to use the word "burglarized"? I might understand if it was altered to shorten it, but the correct past tense of burgle in English is "burgled". This is not the only word America has invented recently that is overly complex compared to the correct English word. Does anyone know where these "trailer trash words" come from?
Oh the irony. The person uses the word 'moron' to describe the thief, and then when you click the link to read the actual article, the spelling of the very ending of the web URL is "wow-your-a-moron/". You just cannot call someone a moron and then use the word 'your' instead of 'you're' in the ***** web page file name.
Step 1) Get an alarm system
Step 2) Buy a shotgun
Step 3) When you hear alarm go off, load shotgun
Step 4) If you catch the crook and his back is to you, pump your shotgun
Step 5) If he doesn't stop what he's doing and runs away after hearing the pump, fire
Step 6) Castle Law
Anyways, sounds like the police are being useless. Anyone up for some vigilante justice?
