- LiquidNinja, on 01/02/2008, -11/+149MATT DAMON
- domataos, on 01/02/2008, -4/+54Needs Mouse + Keyboard
- TalkingBanana, on 01/02/2008, -4/+51Yeah, well, my dad owns Blizzard and my cousin is a programmer there and my dog is a graphic designer there and it is DEFINITELY happening.
- ObviousCat, on 01/02/2008, -7/+42So that means you can play Starcraft 2 on the Xbox 360.
- Mononuclear, on 01/02/2008, -3/+36I love playing games on my tampons. GTA has even more blood and sex...
- Bara, on 01/02/2008, -7/+33So that you can control your units with a delayed cursor? Have fun. I'll stick to my pc.
- CraigCarlyle, on 01/02/2008, -3/+29Wouldn't surprise me. I bet "Activision Blizzard" is going to try and get the game shipped for every OS, console, handheld, phone, tampons, etc.
***** Activision and Vivendi - doshindude, on 01/02/2008, -11/+36Console Controller (excluding Wiimote) = makes RTS games suck.
- kevinmsu, on 01/02/2008, -3/+28will it be coming out for 3DO?
- XBSHX, on 01/02/2008, -2/+25"Will there be a console version of StarCraft II?
StarCraft II is being developed for the PC. We have no current plans to bring the game to any console platform." - noobeffect, on 01/02/2008, -4/+25Command and Conquer 3 hit the 360 and so did World in Conflict both big names in the RTS genre, so it would make sense to have Starcraft 2 on the 360. It's probably part of the plan that Activision-Blizzard has in store for the consumers.
- NSMike, on 01/02/2008, -5/+25ObviousCat is Obvious.
- stinger666, on 01/02/2008, -6/+25Wouldn't run on a Wii.
- chaosium, on 01/02/2008, -5/+23My older brother told me to tell your older brother that he should not expect to come in the office tomorrow.
- tendonut, on 01/02/2008, -1/+19That's not saying much. You've been able to pre-order Duke Nukem Forever since 1999.
*****, EB would let you register to sign up for the notification to pre-order games that have just been rumored. - chaos7, on 01/02/2008, -1/+18i hope it only comes out for PC
- Mononuclear, on 01/02/2008, -0/+17My dad's cousin's nextdoor neighbor's uncle works for a temp agency that sometimes hires out contract work from a graphic design firm that blizzard sometimes uses. He says your brother is full of *****.
- razrielle, on 01/02/2008, -1/+17HAHAH i know i was told starcraft ghost was too
- iofthestorm, on 01/02/2008, -4/+20How the hell do you play RTSs on a console? That just sounds painful...
- LimeParrot, on 01/02/2008, -3/+19Playing SC2 on a console would just diminish a game meant to be played on the PC. RTS simply NEEDS a mouse.
- Dylson, on 01/02/2008, -4/+19I love this comment. So accurate, simple, and to the point. Dugg.
- inactive, on 01/02/2008, -0/+15Except for the canceled Starcraft: ghost.
Or the N64 Starcraft "port"
Or the Warcraft 2 Saturn "port"
Or the Diablo Playstation "port"
Yup a blizzard game doesn't stand a chance of coming out on a console! Not no way not no how! - Creamedweasel, on 01/02/2008, -0/+14Hear that? That's the sound of you being retarded.
- InformedCrab, on 01/02/2008, -0/+12Your right! His a ***** genius!
- starforsaken666, on 01/02/2008, -8/+20Meh, old news. We can already pre-order it in Canada.
- ghostlywind, on 01/02/2008, -2/+14I swear to god if they do cross platform and charge for live on starcraft 2 pc and give no free online play alternative, i will go to blizzard and personally kick them all in the nuts.
- ByteGuerilla, on 01/02/2008, -1/+12It tends to be very bad when it's a feckless port. Command and Conquer 3 wasn't as hard to control on the 360 as I was expecting, but still not nearly as easy as it is on PC. Halo Wars is going to be interesting to see, as that's an RTS being built from the ground up for the 360, with a decade of hindsight as far as RTS-on-Console goes, so I expect to see some innovations in interaction there. There's nothing saying it can't be done well, just that no one's done it well yet.
- TRUEPATRIOT, on 01/02/2008, -1/+11using the wiimote for rts is like playing an rts on pc with only the mouse
- Christbait, on 01/02/2008, -1/+11World In Conflict isn't out for another few months yet.
- Uranium118, on 01/02/2008, -2/+12For this simple reason: it will be the only version.
- ripple123, on 01/02/2008, -1/+10My pie told me this morning not to believe 14 year old kids on the internet. so I ate it.
- benitojuarez, on 01/02/2008, -1/+10If its true there better be a console specific version, im going to be really pissed if they dumb the pc version down for consoles like they did for ut3
- Kev1000000, on 01/02/2008, -9/+18You're a Sony fanboy. Shut up.
- Skwerl, on 01/02/2008, -1/+10Lets hope it stays that way.
- KielKilla, on 01/02/2008, -1/+9On a side note remember Starcraft for N64? It was terrible compared to the PC version. In my own opinion rts games belong on a computer or at least something with a keyboard and mouse...
- doskir, on 01/02/2008, -1/+9the 360 has usb ports so i could see them adding support for mouse + keyboard
- SirBryce, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7Anyone try to play the N64 version of Starcraft? Yeah, not a great idea.
- BrandonMills, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7They won't even let PC FPS players play console FPS players without aimbots. Fat chance getting the RTS crowd to play together.
- rdoger6424, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7that trips me up every time
- Bara, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7Isn't Supreme Commander supposed to come out on 360 too?
- tendonut, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7Starcraft Gamepad edition. Wooooo! Can't wait to die in campaign mode as I attempt to quickly select 4 buildings and produce 12 troops and 3 vehicles.
- tendonut, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7Yeah, and I heard it is also being ported to the Wonderswan and the Lynx.
- DukeMojo, on 01/02/2008, -0/+7Well, DUH.
- houndeyex, on 01/02/2008, -1/+8Is there a mouse and keyboard also confirmed for the 360?
Yeah, I know they probably already have these before I get flamed to hell, but seriously: Starcraft? Controller? No thank you. - Pureeviljester, on 01/02/2008, -1/+7for the 360 genius
- ByteGuerilla, on 01/02/2008, -0/+6I don't think anyone can argue that you have greater control over your aim on a PC, but slagging console FPS for 'aimbots', by which I think you mean aiming assists (which, I agree, are abhorrent), is quite off-base.
Say what you will about ease of control, there's nothing more immersive than a gamepad, and Bara's right; this and the last generation of gaming showed that console FPS can work when the devs give a little love to the minutia of control reponse. So long as everyone I'm playing against is using a gamepad, I'm happier this way than with a mouse and keyboard.
It will be interesting to see how well console RTS progresses. - Puffball, on 01/02/2008, -0/+6Either way, Starcraft 2 is coming to an MS platform so its jumping the gun a bit to assume that its coming to the 360 just because an MS site mentions it being great.
- JayD16, on 01/02/2008, -5/+11Well the basis for this is ridiculous. The person who codes something like that would not have access to this sort of information in the first place. It never mentions anything about 360 RTSs, just RTSs in general. If its going to the 360 or not is a different discussion but I would say basing any claims on this 'evidence' would be jumping to conclusions.
I really don't think it would come out for the 360 though. Blizzard time and time again has said they don't like consoles. - KielKilla, on 01/02/2008, -2/+8ZERG RUSH KEKEKEKEKE -______-
