- Nobiting, on 07/14/2008, -5/+101VALVE! You chose a console over your beloved PC?!? At least we know when Valve says the game will come out this year it actually means 2 years.
- iamnobody8614, on 07/15/2008, -3/+49***** that. I'd rather have the new Portal.
- JTEX1414, on 07/15/2008, -3/+32Valve, of all companies knows there is $$ in the PC market.. I hope they release simultaneously...
- Nobiting, on 07/14/2008, -0/+27You're doing it wrong.
- Ziziros, on 07/14/2008, -5/+31dugg for the exciting news.
pissed off because the video isn't working and i can't find another post of it. - sylvok, on 07/15/2008, -0/+26For those needing a portal fix on the PC might I recommend heading over to
http://portalmaps.wecreatestuff.com/
Its around 3.5 hours of player made portal maps and it is rather well done. Just finished it tonight and I have to say its on par with regular portal. I think of it as portal 1.5 for now. - BugMeNot2, on 07/15/2008, -0/+20What I meant was that, lately, it seems that saying something like "Xbox 360 exclusive" can still mean that a PC version exists; 360 exclusive means exclusive to that platform only in the console space.
- dbldn, on 07/14/2008, -3/+22Amazing news. Portal was the best game of last year and I'm stoked to see more.
- jfg84, on 07/15/2008, -1/+20Dugg for not screwing us over and making us pay full price for a puzzle game because it was a big hit. I'm looking at you Katamari Damacy.
- RudeTurnip, on 07/15/2008, -0/+18I beat Portal a couple weeks ago. It was the first time I ever felt like I accomplished something by playing a game.
- latova, on 07/15/2008, -2/+19The PC version of orange box sold way more than the console version did, trust me they're making it for PC too.
- jjb123, on 07/15/2008, -2/+18I hope they release it on the PC too. I have a 360 too, but I just like the way games play on PCs.
- Badam89, on 07/15/2008, -1/+13The video does work. Click play and then more on the screen.
- ZeroOrDie, on 07/15/2008, -6/+17E3 was a triumph.
- evilesttoast, on 07/15/2008, -0/+10Consoles have their own piracy problems. Honest people know when they see a good game. Orange Box for $50 was a obvious choice.
- BugMeNot2, on 07/15/2008, -2/+11By "Xbox 360 exclusive", I'm betting they mean "console exclusive".
- sexybobo, on 07/15/2008, -0/+8Some one needs to get this to the front page. It is something i think a lot of diggers would enjoy if they new about it. MR baby man or badwithcomputers i am looking at you.
- evilesttoast, on 07/15/2008, -1/+9The PC version has the ability to add custom maps...

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36209.html - snds, on 07/15/2008, -1/+7Grim, you obviously don't seem to know about mod chips. There is definitely a significant group of users that are adults that can afford games, however the other majority of the gaming populace are pre-teens and students, there is a significant amount of piracy due to students and these "young-uns" not being able to afford games all the time. Sure some students do buy all their games and I'm not saying all student steal games either, but let's face it, a good portion of student and pre-teen gamers pirate games because they can't afford them every time a new and awesome game comes out. Just take a look at the amount of "console game backups" that you can find on any number of torrent sites, the proof that is self-evident. There is just as much console game piracy as there is PC game piracy.
- npsken, on 07/15/2008, -2/+7Or maybe just Xbox 360 exclusive...
"...offers no official support for the Playstation 3's Cell Broadband Engine."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_engine#Technol ... - tidu, on 07/15/2008, -0/+5no... no you didn't.
- Eldorian, on 07/15/2008, -8/+12I'm making a note here... HUGE SUCCESS
- Genrre, on 07/15/2008, -1/+5They must have put the Portal announcement at the end so that people didn't instantly stop the video and tell all their friends (through Steam of course) like I did.
- evilesttoast, on 07/15/2008, -4/+8Its hard to overstate my satisfaction
- npsken, on 07/15/2008, -0/+4I believe the delays have to do with this:

No support for scripting languages by default. - jgtg32a, on 07/15/2008, -1/+4only the cake
- npsken, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3Is there anything wrong with that in this case? Anyone who has played the "Ren Tests" on PC knows how awesome extra maps can be.

Thanks sock2828 for providing the link further down.
So what's happening with the downloadable content for the current game? Is that still going ahead? - ericrous, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3The new Portal is a lie.
- Tyrghast, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3The way they told the Portal story just blew me away, with hints and clues and whatnot. Also a sadistic computer capable of very very black humor rules.
- Ryosen, on 07/15/2008, -0/+3Somebody needs to wake up the announcer. He sounded like he was pretty much sleeping through the entire video. Is a little enthusiasm too much to ask for?
- johnnyboy239, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2that comment was a triumph
- hassanchop13, on 07/15/2008, -2/+4so wait, is this just the same Portal+random extras or a new game?
- hellsing47, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Fanboys?
You mean the original gamers games like these catered to? - winterorange, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2Anyone who thinks that the Xbox will somehow get maps that won't eventually make their way over to PC are crazy. Even if fans have to remake or or somehow port them over themselves...it will happen.
- LukeBeaumont, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2Epic being awesome, not the name of a company.
- thebaron2, on 07/15/2008, -1/+3Unfortunately, snds, those ripped games are nearly useless if you want to play online. And with something like Portal, I think that'd be one of the main draws.
Unless there's some workaround I don't know about (and let me know if there is) I thought modded consoles got banned from XBL once they try to connect. - Crazymaniacc, on 07/15/2008, -0/+2They're setting the mood with this, there will be a new Portal
- spect3r, on 07/15/2008, -1/+3Im like, still alive... ooh look at those flowery pants
- BestJaxx, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1It starts today, so I don't get the past tense.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -1/+2There are already countless downloadable maps for the PC version of Portal. Microsoft probably just payed them a hefty sum to make a few extra for them!
- Managore, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Well, Valve and Blizzard.
- sylvok, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1No that portal free trial to nvidia users can run it
- CarzorStelatis, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1XBLA release dates are about as reliable as launch 360s' cooling systems. Still waiting for Pirates vs Ninjas "Out in Q1 2008" Dodgeball. Stand by for Portal: Still Alive to be released some time in 2011.

does this mean the companion cube didn't die? *prays* - joegibes, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Video: GlaDOS' voice announcing "Portal: Still Alive" as the "Portal: Still Alive" logo appears onscreen.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1I'm making a note here
HUGE FAIL - BugMeNot2, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1And now all this is irrelevant.
Portal: Still Alive is basically the Portal: The Flash Version map pack, which has been available for free for months, for the PC version of Portal. -
