- UncleHenry, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19I can think of a way... but the controller wouldn't work anymore...
- truspector, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10Funny, I thought telling people on the internet they're fags for playing Guitar Hero instead of a real guitar made you a fag.
- harjan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8My 360 has started to act weirdly with showing open tray, while there's actually a DVD in the drive.
But hasn't anybody else noticed the menu's, loading times, etc. all have sped up. Or have I just gone bonkers? - motang, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Finally wireless guitar support for the 360.
- thebaron2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6You can use the old XBOX wireless internet adapter if you'd like, it works just as well as the one specifically for the 360, and its cheap on ebay.
- Inverno, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11Couldn't the drivers be shipped on the game disk?
- Gogogo111, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7Thats like saying, become a real gangster, GTA is fake ***** for fags.
Btw, I play the guitar, and this game is just fun. Its a video game - HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5All 360 updates are mandatory (PS3 ones too, for that matter).
It cuts down on testing, no having to test every combination of players with new and old software in multiplayer games. Also cuts down on having to explain to customers why they bought a wireless guitar and it didn't work. - HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4MS prepares 360 for wireless guitars. Of course, wireless guitars have a $20 ***** fee attached, because MS can't go without their peripheral money!
MS is completely screwing their customers on their peripheral strategy. $130 for a poor racing wheel? $50 for a crappy wireless headset? Stop nickel and diming us, MS.
The original wireless controller is good though, not exactly cheap, but good. - jason469, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4My 360 never had problems until this update, now my 360 has locked on me once and I've noticed to choke-ups on it.
- Bakkster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4There are rumblings that this is only for the Guitar Hero 3 controllers, and not for Rock Band. Of course, this is based on the Rock Band bundles for 360 having wired controllers (according to GameStop). Not sure how much I'd believe yet, though.
- AwesomeAndy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I had no idea that was promised. I haven't bothered with it since I already have it for PS2.
- terinjokes, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4How long until the update appears in CD form from xbox's website?
(http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/systemupdates.htm "Burn a DVD or CD" section)
I don't have a long enough ethernet cable to get live on the 360 just yet (have to route ethernet halfway across the house) - aahpandasrun, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Finally. It's about time that we get some third party wireless controllers for 360
- notman, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Can we get a patch that allows online play for GH2? How long has that been promised?
- drmobutu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Pfft. When I read the headline, I thought it meant that you would be able to hookup a REAL electric guitar to your xbox...Guitar Hero is fun and all, but what would really rock, would be a game that teaches you REAL guitar skills...
- grat2001, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Here's is where MS should take a page from Sony and update more often.
- badtzmartin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It also disables the consoles ability to detect a disc in the drive, at least until the machine reboots.
- theexit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I cant even play guitar hero 2 now. It freezes at the loading screen. What a pain. I hope its just a patch that will fix it and not my 3rd 360. Anyone else have this problem?
- g4blows, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Don't you guys know not to feed the trolls, it just encourages them.
EDIT: *****, I think I just fed him. - g4blows, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I had the same problem actually. I had a game in the drive while it updated and then just said open tray when it was done. Luckily I could open and close the tray with the controller so I didn't have to get off my lazy ass. I'm not sure if its still happening though, I just thought it was a fluke. I'll have to check once I get home.
- apescissors, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Mine said there was no disc after the update but I had PE6 in the drive. I ***** myself and reset it, has been fine since. I've only had it about 4 days so I was about to cry.
- drtyfrnk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Now I need a way to make my wired guitar wireless for GH2...
- sinembarg0, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Backwards compatibility is updated when you play an xbox one game, not with the console updates.
- truspector, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2So you're a guitar playing murder. Mom and Dad must be so proud.
- Yarnage, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is incorrect. Major Nelson said himself that the same update will ship on both GH3 and Rock Band's discs and that you do not need this current one if you don't want to download it.
- alterImperson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1There's most likely something else in the update. Could be anything, probably just fixing some minor software issues or updating the backwards compatibility stuff.
- ezweave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, had the same thing last night... not sure why it messes up the tray.
- garadox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I also have an issue with this update. My XBox just came back from being repaired (after 3 red lights) and I had the same issue when it rebooted. The XBOX 360 screen stays on for 20-30 seconds before the console hits the dashboard.
My console still works, so it's not bricked, but it still waits for 30 seconds every time I turn it on :( - alterImperson, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Dude, you've seriously missed the point of playing the game. Honestly...
- truspector, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1If you say so fudge packer.
- longliverock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0***** it. Call me PS3 Fanboy, call me whatever you want. BTW, Xbox 360/ Original Xbox dominates all. The only Sony piece of equipment I own is an 7-year old CD player. Anyways, No joke, this bricked my xbox. Once it finished installing, it rebooted, and when it did, the screen stayed on the "XBOX 360" Logo/Motto/whatever you call it, for about 30 seconds. Finally, it went to dashboard. So I turned it off. Then, turned it back on, nothing shows up on the screen. 5 seconds later, still black screen, and then, the infamous three red lights flashed. People have been calling me a ***** liar for hours now, but I'm not. My xbox died when I installed this update. It's happened to no one else I know, only me. No lie.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Thats like saying, become a real gangster, GTA is fake ***** for fags.
Agreed, I have personally killed in real life and can vouch for it being better than any stupid video game. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Nope, just the people playing guitar hero
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1There is no point to playing games. Honestly...
- endlessoul, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1This question has been asked by myself and others. Apparently, MS is saying that in order for the wireless guitars to work with the Xbox, the update is needed before the game is released. It makes me think there are other reasons for the update. That could just be me, though.
- Radar3D, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I saw "for Wireless G" in my RSS feed and got excited. $100 for a "gaming adapter" my ass.
- bigdoof, on 10/10/2007, -6/+5Good idea. After you're done putting drivers onto the Guitar Hero 2 discs, don't forget to refill your Mr. Fusion.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3I don't know why you're being dugg down for this, as it's almost certainly true. Why else would an update for wireless guitars be mandatory? If you don't take the update you can't sign into Live anymore.
- Rackerz, on 10/10/2007, -9/+6Some extra security checks against piracy in this I think.
- aauxta, on 10/10/2007, -3/+0Exactly! How RSS feed cutoff can ruin the excitement
- JordanTW90, on 10/10/2007, -12/+2This wasnt standard?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -17/+3Get a real guitar people. Playing that fake ***** is for fags.
