- JohnDavis730, on 12/12/2007, -10/+87i wish they would get rid of that ***** MS Points systems
- Rijnzael, on 12/12/2007, -7/+64I'd gladly pony up 400 points for the three maps just to play Foundry soccer, but for only three maps, 1/6th the entire retail price is pushing it for me.
- markbrown, on 12/12/2007, -4/+52In other news, my 360 is still humping my leg for money.
- veeshy, on 12/12/2007, -4/+42these will "eventually" be released for 0 MS points
can't wait - Ugoff, on 12/12/2007, -4/+28Thanks Bungie for releasing it during finals week. Now I can hear the kid across the hall yell ***** about 100+ times while I try to study for my 3 finals coming up :(
Seriously though, the maps seem pretty cool from what I saw briefly. - Metellus, on 12/12/2007, -1/+15I Can't Understand This Trend in Capitalization
- DMDekoth, on 12/12/2007, -0/+14I'm not defending the price tag on the maps, but there's nothing wrong with continuing to develop content for your games after they've been released.
- hokeywebb22, on 12/12/2007, -3/+16Why are you dugg up? You can't play them maps unless you buy them.
- Psythik, on 12/12/2007, -3/+16Amount of money spent on Halo 3 so far (inc. maps, Game Fuel, etc.) = $84.50
Amount of regret for spending said amount of money = 0 - Velnich, on 12/12/2007, -0/+11Let me make your comment more legitimate by digging it down.
- BrownV, on 12/12/2007, -0/+11Dugg down for poor grammer and for idiotic slander. Learn how to make a point without sounding childish. Not dugg down due to being a "fanboy".
- Wohmfg, on 12/12/2007, -7/+18Yeah they want more money, and if they put their time into making more maps and selling them, there's nothing evil about that. Also, I'm pretty sure Bungie doesn't decide the prices of the maps.
- Jibberwalk, on 12/12/2007, -2/+13You either mean that in the snide obnoxious "CoD4 is better than Halo lololol," or you meant to say "I wish CoD4 would release some new maps already."
I'm going to assume you were just being the token dick in a Halo 3 story. - Jimbob200, on 12/12/2007, -4/+15Wohmfg is right, Microsoft decides the price. Also, they gave you a bunch of maps already, and they're accomodating those who don't pony up the money so they can still play matchmaking.
- agdtinman, on 12/12/2007, -2/+11For people who play Halo for the fun of it (which is the non-vocal majority of players), these maps accomplish what all the past post-release maps have done: add even more fun.
- hokeywebb22, on 12/12/2007, -0/+8They will not be free then. Most likely in a few months they will be.
- JEAH, on 12/12/2007, -2/+10yea, and the vehicles... because, you know, cod4's vehicles are awesome. right?
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+7well you dont have to get it now,you can be like me and wait for a few months until its free. Its not like Halo is the only game I play, and I can pretty happoily get by with the current maps until it is free, theres no way im gonna pay that much for 3 maps likewise.
- xino, on 12/12/2007, -0/+7I think he knew they were 800 points. He meant that he would be happy if they were 400 points.
- Exhaust, on 12/12/2007, -0/+6But new maps for Resistance is okay right? New tracks and vehicles for Motorstorm is okay right? You're a ***** fanboy douche. STFU
- copaceticZ, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5oh there is no problem with the beatdowns you just don't fully understand them bugie has been very cryptic when talking about them all i can say is it involves your "HEALTH"..........and halo gives me thousands of dollars of enjoyment i don't mind spending 10 extra dollars on it...
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -3/+8High quality maps, but 800 points for only three maps? Definitely only for hardcore Halo fans... I'll wait.
- Exhaust, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5Learn how to spell you douche. WAAAHH Halo maps cost $10 so I'm going to get on the internet and rant about it. WAAAH!
Go wash the sand out of your pussy. - bagboyrebel, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4That's like getting mad a Valve because Half-Life has mods.
- xino, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4I would have dugg you up if you stopped at "milking it." I personally like the maps and I am sure I will like the new maps as well, but not going to pay 800 MS points for them.
- ShadowMagic, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4yeah even worse when you love halo and its final week with 2 20 page papers due and my HDTV is telling me I'v been working hard for an hour...take a break...play me! and then i play....then the sun is down and im like well ***** now i gotta pull an all nighter
- Psythik, on 12/12/2007, -1/+5Not necessarily, considering that I'm having a huge LAN party with my family on Christmas Eve & we're all excited about playing the new maps then.
- Rijnzael, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4Ya. 1/6th of $60 is $10, or 800 MS points.
- hollismb, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3I agree with lots of people that they're too expensive, and sure, they might be 'worth' ten bucks of playtime to you, but they're still over-priced for downloadable content. Bungie states its not their decision, but Microsoft's, so be mad at them if you want to be mad at someone. Personally, I don't want to play that much for three maps, and can wait until they're free, as long as the majority of my regular group doesn't by them, thus forcing me to if I want to play. So far, nobody's caved.
- adminmatt, on 12/12/2007, -2/+5yeah. heaven forbid a company try and make money off their product. you're right. you're overzealous sense of entitlement makes so much sense!
if you don't like it don't buy it. - Exhaust, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3" I would just like to see one game that releases chapters of the single playergame as DLC, extend the game for months"
Ever heard of something called Grand Theft Auto 4? - K3lviN, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3They're free from Spring '08:
http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2007/11/19/halo ... - ScionX, on 12/12/2007, -1/+4I'd rather it be like PSN method. You put a certain amount of money in your wallet & go from their.
- mllawso, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3But market research has shown consumers are more apt to purchase something labeled as costing X amount of gold vs. X amount of actual money, even if the actual cost is the same. The "gold" adds another perceived layer of separation from actual cost, especially if the exchange rate of gold to dollars is high.
- Velnich, on 12/12/2007, -1/+4What would you have it replaced with? Credit card only direct charges?
- ThE0eNiGmA, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3Actually, it seems to me that it implies that there will be a large amount of new players who just got Halo 3 for Christmas, and they will be getting online around Dec. 26.
- ndiderrich, on 12/12/2007, -3/+6I actually was mad at the price but I still bought them anyway, I really wasn't into the forge mode either before this came out and then I started liking it after playing around with it in foundry. Oh and when you download the maps you get a little playlist that cycles through the maps and various game modes for those maps which is entertaining while it lasts, only thing though I never experienced Foundry on the playlist, only locally with a buddy.
- Phasmorphage, on 12/12/2007, -2/+5Yes, I don't think that a lot of the anti-Halo 3 people realize that the reason Halo 3 is such a best selling game is because... get this.. it's FUN!
But forget about that, let's bitch about the graphics and the price some more! - Exhaust, on 12/12/2007, -2/+4WAAAAAHH! Don't buy them then you cheap *****.
- NaziHatinChimp, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2I think the token dick one would be right.
- Schwab, on 12/12/2007, -2/+4I'm just going by the Red Vs Blue introduction of the new maps that says, "Download it early so you can pwn all the noobs on December 26th." Take it as you will.
- sUGArDawg, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2Ummmm no, nice try though
- Psythik, on 12/12/2007, -1/+3So they're not in rotation for matchmaking yet?
That makes me feel a little bit better about missing out on buying them today... - smergs, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2Then why were the Bioshock dev's able to release new stuff without charging us?
Also I don't think anyone would argue that it's a problem for us to pay for maps, just not 800 points. - ronaldmonster, on 12/12/2007, -7/+9Just to let you guys know, 10 dollars is overpriced. And considering there making millions, almost billions on this game they have no right to nickel and dime you to death. Buying this map packs makes you a ***** idiot and sends a message to developers that this is ok.
- thefirelane, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2I think that was in reference to all the noobs who just got their Xmas Xbox
- v0lrath, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2It is ok. Especially because they're going to be free in a few months.
- inajeep, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2Tell me how it's your insane comment is even around 'slightly'.
- inajeep, on 12/12/2007, -0/+1Got them and am happy with them. Rat's Nest is so far my favorite. I look forward to making that a cool racing map. Just trying to figure out how to make ramps.
- zaldoe, on 12/12/2007, -2/+3redvsblue preview here : http://rvb.roosterteeth.com/archive/episode.php?id ...
seems good , not enough for 10$ though ... hope MS would wise up and follow Valve while pricing their goodies , or in other words : goodies = free -
