I'm avoiding the bootleg, so 6 more days for me if I can get to the damn place before they run out of preorders. Thats what I hate, all these damn businesses taking my money to reserve a game, and running out of preorders before I get there because I actually have a life enough not to be crouched outside the door waiting for them to open... and when that happens, they shave 5 bucks off the price!?? Like I care about 5 bucks! Give me my damn GTA ye harlot of customer service!

        • BearinG, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2Who said anything about sitting in traffic.. id love to sometimes (at least in a virtual "rush hour".. no need to be full of traffic all day) drive over the cars in traffic with a truck or tank.. and then you would see the cop car stuck behind the traffic or trying to go around on the sidewalk.. or you jump out of your car.. start running and jumping on the cars.. just like real chases.. sometimes the car dies and you continue on foot..

          At least I did that in GTA:SA.. dump the car, run through a few backyards or between buildings, jump off a bridge.. .. pick up a new car.. I guess it would just depend how they implemented it.. it would be easy to "ruin it".. like in GTA:SA where cars deliberately cut you off when they see you coming fast..

        Go ahead and bury me console fanboys, but you can't tell me that video was evidence of any significant improvement over SA for PC. When I heard that GTA4 won't be release for PC for another 3-6 months, I went through and just finished the complete campaign again. And yes, on a modern PC, SA does look that good, exception being texture quality that doesn't come through on that terrible video resolution.

    Seriously now, how are you all excited so much about this video? It shows nothing except the fact that someone has the game early. Nothing is being shown in this video to be excited for, and you can't even count the graphics because of the ***** video quality. I know the game is exciting and all, and I'm just as excited as you all are...but come on, you all act as if the game is rumored and this video confirms that the game truly is coming.

      Purchase your xbox 360 from costco from now on. If it EVER dies, walk in the store return it for store credit then purchase a new one same day. Trust me it's way better than microsoft's system. Even if it costs $50 more at costco, it's way worth it in the long run.

If anything SAs graphics were compressed beyond belief due to the overall size of the game. The bigger question is why are the textures/graphics so compressed for a game that took up 3.8GB on a DVD? Anyone remember how bad the particle effects were in that game? Gunshot animations anyone?

All of that data needs to be streamed and rendered by the graphics card for output. For a game like GTA, which has no load times, EVERYTHING is streamed from the disc/HDD in the background as you are playing, so you can't be loading huge textures and massive geometry at 60MPH while someone is rampaging through a full-sized city.

      The graphics in GTAIV are very impressive considering this. It's a testament to how far console hardware has advanced. Sure PC's can do it too, but only the high-end setups. The target market for the GTA games generally do not have high-end gaming PC's.
