I am not 8, so many of these games are just juvenille.
Also, A LOT of these so called good games were reviewed very pourly. Coming out with a long list of game titles doesn't mean its a set of good games, just a list of games. I never disputed that Wii has lots of games, just not very compelling good games what I want to buy. - Browzer, on 01/13/2009, -1/+7The straight 10's for GTA4 is quite embarrassing. For all the game's features, they forgot to put the fun in. Lasting Appeal = 10? I got bored after a week. The Gameplay should not be 10. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Gears of War 2 both did covering much better.

It's sad that so many good games will go under the radar because they weren't plastered every where like Halo 3 and got undeserving 10s.

The thing is, not only will most of these go under the radar but they won't appeal to a lot of 360/PS3 gamers because even though we like to say "graphics are not important" - that's not how we actually feel/work as people.
As a guy that has only played wii sports (which I loved) and a marvel game (which I hated) I can only see wii fit on that list that I need to have and thats not to play a game - just that I need to lose some weight. That isn't even me saying I don't like half the games on the list- just that I have no clue about any of them where as I know about Heavy Rain, inFamous, GT5, etc.
How many of them are actually good games though? And how many are shovel ware? I know metacritic isn't the best judge but it is better than looking at any one persons review - only 43 games on the wii got an 80 or higher compared to the 130 games on the 360 which recieved 80 or higher. Don't get me wrong, the 360 has been out longer and a lot of them games have turned into sequals like 3 FIFA games and 3 Madden Games, 2 Gears of War - so you might only want to play the most recent but I'm betting the same could be said about some of the wii games. - MrTwix, on 01/14/2009, -0/+2Well put.

The only people who were disappointed with it were the ones stupid enough to buy into the hype so much as to forget that it's a Grand Theft Auto game, and who then got mad because, in the end, it just turned out to be a Grand Theft Auto game.
It was a good game. Maybe not deserving of 10's all around, but a good game nonetheless, and definitely undeserving of being called "not fun."
I'll agree with you on Vegas 2 and Gears 2 though - both were excellent. - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2I can see where he comes from though.. I play games like Skate and Left 4 Dead much more than GTA IV.. it just felt like a watered down San Andreas with fancy physics and better graphics. I liked GTA IV.. it was fun going sidewalk driving and trying to drive off of the biggest ramps you could.. but when it came to the actual story, it was lackluster. The same thing over and over again. In San Andreas at least you could fly planes and jetpacks and skydive. The helicopter is all we got this time around.

Every one of those games are great and worth playing. I don't make fun of the 360 fanboys when they play Viva Pinata. I enjoy that game too. It's a great game.
It's sad that if a game doesn't involve massive amounts of profanity and violence that it's considered "juvenile". How pathetic. Mario Galaxy was the greatest Mario game since SMB3. - dandonia, on 01/14/2009, -1/+1I'm sorry was cover the main mechinism of GTA IV? It was in Gears 2 and Rainbow 6. They are completely different games to GTA. It is like saying Gears 2 sucked compared with Forza 2 because the driving wasn't as good in Gears 2.
GTA was a ***** quality - the only issue I had with it were that you couldn't jump Crackdown style or parachute off a bike Just Cause style - but that's because it was meant to be realistic. "Hey Niko" will be burnt into my mind forever - it's gonna be like up, down, left, right, A+Start - I'm not saying that it's the best game ever released, I didn't get a chance to finish it cos my disc scratched in the machine but I can't see how people can honestly make out it was less than great. - removesstains, on 01/14/2009, -1/+1Buried for being a grammar policeman. :D

This list is ***** ***** and it isn't even their most frequanted articles list. The IGN fanbase is largly built up of Smackdown fans - if you look at their forum stats - More people go on their to talk about Smackdown than GTA, Halo and Madden combined - their announcement of Crush Hour 2 was by far the most exclusive announcement they had - it was a quality video piece too. - bustaballs, on 01/12/2009, -5/+3At least this argument I can agree with. I could give you a top 30 list of Wii exclusives. The 360 is a great system just like the PS3 and the Wii. Each one has its advantages and faults. Each one has great games.
