- wild, on 01/16/2008, -1/+61Would you kindly make this movie?
- paOol, on 01/16/2008, -1/+45Doom (video game) -> Movie = FAIL
- truspector, on 01/16/2008, -3/+32I'm typically against turning video games into movies, but I can not think of very many more deserving titles. The immersion the story creates in this game is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't think twice about paying to see it on the big screen.
- nonymous666, on 01/16/2008, -0/+26Only as long as they're not just CGI.
- Azerael, on 01/16/2008, -0/+25Tell that to Uwe Boll.
- seanthebond, on 01/16/2008, -2/+26Wow.. Talk about the pic not being related
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -2/+15Would you kindly do the game justice.
- reuscel, on 01/16/2008, -0/+13Better yet, don't tell Uwe Boll about this one.
- AamirM, on 01/16/2008, -2/+13I'm assuming you've never played Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.
- jspegele, on 01/16/2008, -0/+10You don't have to kill them in the game. Something tells me the main character in the movie would be heroic and save them.
- inactive, on 01/16/2008, -11/+21movie -> video game = bad
video game -> movie = AWESOME
bioshock is one of those games that actually could be a better movie! - Sub7, on 01/16/2008, -0/+10Shame there's no-one to write the script.
- ours, on 01/16/2008, -0/+10I agree, Riddick game kicks the movie's ass.
And lets not forget Goldeneye for the N64. - inactive, on 01/16/2008, -4/+13Bloodrayne = fail
Resident Evil = Fail
Doom = fail
DnD movie = fail - renegadeafk, on 01/16/2008, -0/+8It was however unintentionally hilarious.
- Imalek, on 01/16/2008, -1/+9I definitely agree that the prequel would make a great movie if done right, to see the Rapture in its prime and then it's fall would be awesome.
- KingGoonie, on 01/16/2008, -2/+9Thats the absolute key, what you said about big sisters/little daddies. I think you should see them very sparingly, maybe have a few in the game, maybe even just one pair. You will probably have to change the story a bit to do that, since alot of the game is GET THE ADAM, but I think those characters would be so much more effective if there not seen for the most part until towards end of movie. Maybe you see them in distance, or hear her talking, or hear his loud ass footfalls and noises... like create the atmosphere like that ya know? Hearing them and going "oh what in the hell that was creepy!!!!" Like when you first start out in Bioshock and that spider splicer (I think thats what it was) is talking about how someone new just entered the city, and you barely see her moving around in the dark but not really... it was pretty creepy.
- Nidis, on 01/16/2008, -3/+10Ignoring the fact this story is from a game, it's one of my overall favorites. I really hope that if this goes ahead, they too don't root it up by trying to tie in 'video game lol' references. Like that Doom turdburger. Just treat Fontaine and everyone as the individuals they are, play on their great backgrounds, and use Little Sisters/Big Daddies sparingly...
- heilig, on 01/16/2008, -0/+7Goldeneye only exception?
- Charlotte_Web, on 01/16/2008, -0/+7I bet somebody could make a song about it, too.
- Shakermaker, on 01/16/2008, -0/+7The problem would be if the movie follows the story of Jack. That would be boring IMO. Watching someone walking around Rapture fighting creatures....it would be about as interesting as the Silent Hill movie.
They need to design a story around the Fall of Rapture....they creation of the Big Daddy's and Little Sisters, and how everything changed. THAT would make for a really great story! - Epacitythug, on 01/16/2008, -2/+9as long as its not a gears movie. the big daddies would be awesome to see on the big screen.
- wild, on 01/16/2008, -2/+8Its a brand new studio making it and not the original creators. The creators always viewed it as a one and done deal, so temper your excitement just a little bit.
And honestly, if anything should be a prequel its the movie. - bjs3171, on 01/16/2008, -1/+7am i the only one that kind of liked Doom? Atleast it didn't waste any time trying (and failing) to legitimize itself, and just pretty much got straight to the action. And come on, who didn't laugh at the Rock's terrible over acting?
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 01/16/2008, -0/+6You forgot Tomb Raider.
- tinselt0wn, on 01/16/2008, -0/+6the tongue on cheeck take on objectivism will be one of the first things to go, no matter who does it. come on, this is hollywood we're talking about
- forceflow2, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5Or he could kill just one on accident and turn into the greatest evil the world has ever known ruining the hours of gameplay you spent trying to get the good ending and making you mad because you hadn't saved for a while...
- dafragsta, on 01/16/2008, -3/+8I think Bioshock would look cool if it were done as a stop-motion movie by Tim Burton. The sense of humor and tongue-in-cheek take on objectivism would probably be lost if it's live action.
- PleaseJustDie, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5Ironman was a comic book first.
- Zipko, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5Mario Bros => hilarioiusly bad
- transitive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5a man chooses...a slave obeys.
- deathsquadx, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5Definitely one of Freddie Prince Jr.'s finest films to date!
- Imalek, on 01/16/2008, -0/+5House of the dead --> movie = epic fail
- linksus, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4The only reason DOOM failed was because they were not allowed to portray hell. So they went with the whole been done a million times virus wank.
- LeeSoong, on 01/16/2008, -0/+4It would have to be rated 'R' - and for goodness sake,
make it better than " Wing Commander. " - PleaseJustDie, on 01/16/2008, -1/+5I liked the ending of silent hill, I liked that entire movie actually.
- gn0stik, on 01/16/2008, -3/+7Watch the movie would you kindly?
Buy the merchandise would you kindly?
Buy the sequel game would you kindly?
Support our new franchise would you kindly? - xdeliriumx, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4They are also making another Bioshock game but it will be the prequel to the first Bioshock... before the fall of Rapture.
- gn0stik, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4You didn't pick up and play the logs did you? It's a complete story, a very good one, as told by first person accounts via voice logs, great concept..
- yournamehere, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3what? did you not see the first person scene in Doom? please say you are kidding.
- ilves7, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4eh... i'm sceptical that they would do this movie well. Bioshock is a great game and atmosphere, but they're not going to do the movie with just one guy going through Rapture killing people, there'd be no character development. They're going to have to drastically change the set up to get the general cliche plot points in.
- hustl3r, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3I would so love of they made this into a film. I always thought that it would make such a great contrast from a game to the big screen due to its complex and immersive storyline, which is where a lot of game to movie adaptions fall down these days.
- transitive, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3lol. atlas was just a wee bit on the lame side, its true. what kind of super powered gene mutant titan can't stand a couple of rounds of exploding buck?
- Arcum, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3Reference from the game Bioshock.
- gn0stik, on 01/16/2008, -1/+4Some of us actually saved them. Plus it's actually a better ending if you do, and the payoff in adam is substantial, although you have to wait for it.
- ours, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3That would actually be very cool!
- jarckitekt, on 01/16/2008, -0/+3c'mon if halo can't get made into a movie of some sort, then i doubt that bioshock can. halo is a moey juggernaut. thats all hollywood wants is money. I have read ayn rand(sp) books and i have read a lil bit about bioshock and it sounds epic i dont own it yet but as soon as i get som cheese, i will own it.
- marcomc2, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2His condition, is that he is DEAD.
- CaffeinePowered, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2Id much rather see a system shock 2 movie :(
- JEAH, on 01/16/2008, -0/+2what, do we have to make every ***** successful game into a movie??
