- DanteDefiance, on 10/10/2007, -1/+32Everyone complains about the Halo hype machine. That the game is overrated....but you know what? This is a monumental occasion for the gaming industry as a whole. Selling out like this and becoming a phenomenon will mean more eyes on the gaming community.
Game developers are going to try to make next Halo. Just like the last time the gaming community had a big push and they tried to make the next Mario.

I thought to myself "*****, I guess I should get Halo3." So, feeling left out, I went to the store and picked up the $59.99 version. (Which was the one I was going to buy anyways) I'm not as big of a fan as many of my friends are, but I had a hell of a time playing the game with my friends on xbox live yesterday. Not too many of my friends are gamers, so Halo is pretty much the only game they play besides Madden. Now I have to catch up with my friends in achievements, I was about to look for a guide for all of the skulls and saw this on the front page of Digg. What a coincidence eh? Anyways, me not being a Halo fan, I have to say, I'm very surprised by what all is in the game and how well it was made. I'm happy to see that Bungie really worked hard to perfect this one.

- gwolf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why do you care enough about it to write about it but not to rent it and get an informed opinion? I have played all the games you mentioned and Halo has far more depth. Fear, Crysis and many others have a lot to thank Halo for. Halo was the first to nail the story telling and game play mechanics at the same time. The Xbox might have been a flash in the pan were it not for it's early successes like Halo.
