What did I miss? - Yoshi39, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I think that what people find so impressive is that the grav cannon not only fired the warthog but the guy who tried to trow a granade at the wathog missed and hit the grav cannon resulting in the granade being fired from said cannon (and later hitting the warthog).

I think he was referring to the overall revamping of physics. There are alot of nice little touches that I've noticed while playing. On Snowbound, if you throw a grenade into the snow, it won't bounce or roll down a hill. It just stays there whereas on High Ground, a grenade would just go rolling down the hill. Nothing mind blowing, but cool nonetheless. - estvir, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2You can boost.. everything off the Man Cannon.
By 'everything' I mean equipment (The Trip Mine, anyway, I haven't tried the Bubble Shield), vehicles, those explosive boxes, etc.
Anyway, I was a little disappointed with the Man Cannon (When it was first announced I had the most ridiculous ideas) but it's pretty fun and works well on Valhalla. - AvidMasturbator, on 10/11/2007, -6/+7What's so impressive about this video. It's cool to see that kinda stuff is possible, but how often are you going to be throwing your grenades on man cannons to kill others? Usually throwing it goes just as far, and you can aim with it.

The Halo franchise has sort of tapped out in terms of drawing the "just shoot your enemy" crowd (pejoratively: fratboys and prepubescent chatterboxes) and is expanding to try to get a little more strategy in it besides "stay near where weapon X spawns", etc.
Mark my words: Watch for "jump packs" as a new mobility item for Mjolnir armor in the next version :P
Tribes was just too ahead of it's time--I mean, a command screen giving you a command hierarchy? Different types of battlefield sensors to extend turret coverage and highlight approaching forces? Small antipersonnel mines as a standard loadout?
