I was hoping for something more along the lines of the Halo 2 box art ( http://media.teamxbox.com/dailyposts/boxart/halo2_standard_uk/standard_2D_hi-res.jpg ), which I personally thought was awesome, with Master Chief in some cool stationary pose in front of some epic apocalyptic background, especially considering that this is the final chapter. Like if he'd been standing looking over that cliff instead of running away from it, or something.

Is it because you pee pee everytime you look at the xboxlive stats and realize Halo2 (an original xbox game) has more players online than Gears? Or maybe because the Halo3 beta has more players on than gears, and its not even the full game. Gears of War was a great game, but the comparisons are really getting old.

By now I'd imagine that most people have made up their minds on purchasing the game, and if so, what version (at least potentially), so box art isn't going to change that.

Did they just discover adding warm (yellow/orange) highlights on cool (blue/purple) adds contrast? Every piece of Halo 3 artwork has this effect way overdone. It should be subtle! Its like they discovered a new technique in Photoshop and are now adding it to everything.
