- Shissy, on 05/11/2008, -12/+55Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie really need to come out on the XBLA; or even the VC if they would allow it.
- JayD16, on 05/11/2008, -0/+41That's never going to happen. Too much of a legal headache.
- HappyScrappy, on 05/11/2008, -1/+8Not gonna happen. RARE was owned by Nintendo at the time, and N retains the rights.
- navlys, on 05/12/2008, -0/+0Actually Rare owns the rights to Banjo, so they could definitely put it on Arcade if they wanted to.
- joshuagor44, on 05/12/2008, -7/+32You can just emulate it on your PC for free.
- Xspire, on 05/12/2008, -3/+11why did you get dugg down for this comment? I can guarantee anyone who has an internet connection and had an NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, GB, GBC, GBA has downloaded roms
- solid12345, on 05/12/2008, -4/+4Maybe because we want to play it online on live? Isn't that the point of most classic re-releases?
- Failchan, on 05/12/2008, -9/+4Let me repeat, why is he being Dugg down?
- Xspire, on 05/12/2008, -1/+1I must have hit a chord here. He was -8 when I posted this comment. I resurrected him.
- houndeyex, on 05/12/2008, -1/+6The Banja Kazooie games are some of the ones I've never had good luck emulating.
- Shissy, on 05/12/2008, -7/+3I've only have got it to work on my computer once and it was very laggy. Plus playing with a keyboard isn't the same.
- nyx210, on 05/12/2008, -1/+6That's why you get a controller adapter for the PC.
- MillionsLivio, on 05/12/2008, -0/+10The 360 controller works great.
- Xspire, on 05/12/2008, -3/+11why did you get dugg down for this comment? I can guarantee anyone who has an internet connection and had an NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, GB, GBC, GBA has downloaded roms
- potterboy, on 05/12/2008, -1/+6They should work out a deal where it comes out on both, everyone wins.
- thenewkasanova, on 05/12/2008, -5/+3No...because Nintendo owns the rights to the games, and they don't want nintendo games on a competitor's system. It wouldn't be worth it to them.
- Jadhar, on 05/12/2008, -3/+3nintendo should stfu imo, as if they were hurting for cash or something...
- paulvq, on 05/12/2008, -1/+5That's why he said they should work out a deal that is advantageous to both...
Reading comprehension FTW.- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -3/+1well, not strictly true. nintendo only want it to not come out on xbox.
i mean, can you imagine the ***** of goldeneye multiplayer on the wii?
- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -3/+1well, not strictly true. nintendo only want it to not come out on xbox.
- bobbyi, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2Agreed. And that deal should involved Goldeneye being exclusive to the Wii and Banjo-Kazooie exclusive to the xbox. And nothing for Sony, of course.
- thenewkasanova, on 05/12/2008, -5/+3No...because Nintendo owns the rights to the games, and they don't want nintendo games on a competitor's system. It wouldn't be worth it to them.

Not only that, whats more impressive is that they managed to find a way to inject other games into the VC packaging with custom name and "banner image".
- MaxMWood, on 05/11/2008, -29/+10Looks very Crash Bandicoot.
- timdorr, on 05/12/2008, -4/+24Without the suck.
- r3m1x, on 05/12/2008, -9/+3More like LittleBigPlanet
- estvir, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5How the hell does it look like LBP? Because some of the background is blurred?
- suntzusputnik, on 05/11/2008, -1/+58mumbo's nuts :)
- JoEBlack982, on 05/11/2008, -5/+83Banjo reminds me now of something out of a horror film than the lovable character I remember him as on N64,
- killscreenes, on 05/11/2008, -2/+2I think he looks like Yogi Bear.
- YellowSnowDemon, on 05/12/2008, -0/+26Yeah, why the ***** is his nose square-ish? Banjo would have looked great if they used the same model that was on the cover of the old games. Just a highly detailed version of the old Banjo.
- Xspire, on 05/12/2008, -0/+6Yes. Put a ski mask on him and I would confuse this game for the new Splatterhouse remake coming out.
- xxMarka, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5it's not because his nose is square it's because his eyes are tiny
- EDmAN, on 05/11/2008, -31/+70Rare has sucked since Nintendo and Rare split. Plain and simple, they used to be my favorite developer, but after all the best employees of the company had already left, Nintendo was right to let that contract go. Not to mention it takes them forever to get anything to the market. Plus, its been so long since a Banjo game came out, I'm afraid I've out grown it. They should have left this one alone and did something new.
- royalboyle, on 05/11/2008, -5/+82False. Viva Pinata was spectacular.
- mattwalton56, on 05/11/2008, -20/+5The first one was great
...the second one...not so much.- dagamer34, on 05/12/2008, -2/+2Because it was a LOT harder.
- estvir, on 05/12/2008, -0/+20There isn't a Viva Pinata 2 though there is a spin-off party game.
- potterboy, on 05/12/2008, -0/+42nd one? Are you referring to that awful party game spinoff?
- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2the party game wasn't developed by rare.
- Sirocco, on 05/12/2008, -23/+6If by "spectacular" you mean "creepy Animal Crossing ripoff", then yes, it was utterly spectacular.
- Repeater2000, on 05/12/2008, -4/+11*****. It is one of THE best strategy games in the past 10 years.
- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -2/+2maybe read some reviews of the game.. it's pretty much seen great reviews across the board, even from seasoned hardcore gamers.
- bagboyrebel, on 05/12/2008, -12/+5I really don't understand what was so great about that game.
- mattwalton56, on 05/11/2008, -20/+5The first one was great
- D14BL0, on 05/11/2008, -12/+4I don't think Rare was too hyped about working with Microsoft, either. I'm pretty sure that the Conker and Perfect Dark games were intentional failures.
- Outsanity, on 05/12/2008, -2/+5on Xbox, yes. On Nintendo, no
- jmnz, on 05/12/2008, -1/+12I wouldn't say that Conker was a failure - that game was great
- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2their first two xbox360 games were originally going to be xbox1 games. Infact, kameo was a gamecube -> xbox -> xbox360. personally i liked kameo, for a launch game it was fun, and looked great. shame there wasn't more to it.
- YellowSnowDemon, on 05/12/2008, -2/+67If you can outgrow Banjo, you have no soul.
- AmICoolNow, on 05/12/2008, -1/+13I played Banjo Kazooie a couple weeks ago, it's impossible to outgrow.
- Tayls, on 05/12/2008, -1/+13Please don't suck, please don't suck. (fingers crossed)
- latova, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9They already killed Perfect Dark and I doubt they're going to stop there.
- Tayls, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1A sad, and completely true point.
- latova, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9They already killed Perfect Dark and I doubt they're going to stop there.
- TheFoo, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2Yeah, even the Stampers are gone now.
- DavidGX, on 05/12/2008, -2/+2Wrong. PDZ was good, Kameo was great. Viva Pinata was awesome and I'm really looking forward to this.
- chillypacman, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1It's not RAREs fault the xbxo 360 fanbase does not appreciate the genre they're good in.
PDZ did in fact suck but Kameo was a fantastic game, it was the only game that provided next gen visuals at launch and had by far the most fun and innovative gameplay until viva pinata was released.
And saying you've outgrown banjo kazooie? peh, you sound like a 13 year old kid who thinks any game that doesn't involve blood and guts is for kids.
- royalboyle, on 05/11/2008, -5/+82False. Viva Pinata was spectacular.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/11/2008, -12/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpPnK2Bl0Pk
- rjhomuth, on 05/11/2008, -1/+17Mumbo ftw.
- dotdan, on 05/11/2008, -18/+8If the game is any good, it will single-handedly justify purchasing a 360.
- cutevie, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Hahaha my thoughts exactly. I love this game n_n
- WhereAmI, on 05/12/2008, -4/+3Because Ratchet and Clank & Jak and Daxter just don't matter...
- sadsadrobot, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5Yep
- bobbyi, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2Jak and Daxter was dead to me when the made the horrific sequel where they turned a brilliant platform game into a grand theft auto clone. Wtf?
- mrinsanity, on 05/11/2008, -45/+3Banjo Kablooie can officially sock my nutssack
- noahgelman, on 05/12/2008, -1/+3I'll sock you in the "nutssack" while we're at it
- mrinsanity, on 05/12/2008, -7/+2O RLY!?
- noahgelman, on 05/12/2008, -1/+3I'll sock you in the "nutssack" while we're at it
- muleking, on 05/11/2008, -18/+13If it's half as good as Donkey Kong 64 or Banjo Tooie, I'll be in heaven.
Collecting 1000's of pieces of mundane crap in contrived environments, whether it be music notes, jinjos, jigsaws, skull tokens, bananas, red bananas, gold bananas, is always fun. RARE should have quit after Goldeneye.- YellowSnowDemon, on 05/12/2008, -1/+19Can't say the same for Donkey Kong, but I 100%'d Banjo-Kazooie and enjoyed every second of it. That game had so much charm, and the music was absolutely fantastic.
- gamer31, on 05/12/2008, -1/+17i tired to 100% banjo-Kazooie, but i couldnt find 3 ***** music notes in click clock wood. Those 3 notes haunted my dreams for months and as a kid with nothing better to do, I spent days looking for them.
I guess 102% Donkey Kong 64 makes up for the 99.9% in banjo-kazooie.
I really miss my N64 now :(- quarkie, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3Ugh video game dreams are the worst.
- Jusscurio, on 05/12/2008, -1/+0I got a bug that only let me get to 99% in Donkey Kong 64. It has haunted me every day since then. Oh how I wish I wasn't so lazy so I could go back and get everything possible in that game and see the best ending. Maybe someday...maybe...
- Witchdoktor, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1I missed those same 3 ***** notes!
- gamer31, on 05/12/2008, -1/+17i tired to 100% banjo-Kazooie, but i couldnt find 3 ***** music notes in click clock wood. Those 3 notes haunted my dreams for months and as a kid with nothing better to do, I spent days looking for them.
- AmICoolNow, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4Collecting ***** was not what made those games fun, man...
- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1no. collecting ***** is what made conker fun. :->
- YellowSnowDemon, on 05/12/2008, -1/+19Can't say the same for Donkey Kong, but I 100%'d Banjo-Kazooie and enjoyed every second of it. That game had so much charm, and the music was absolutely fantastic.
- Repeater2000, on 05/11/2008, -11/+55I can't wait!!! I have this at the ready for just such an occasion:
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4116/potsmoking ...- zer0hour, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5fair enough
- endlessoul, on 05/12/2008, -0/+6Wow. I have to say that piece is awesome on so many levels.
- Managua8Green, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1yeah, but its better on level 3.
- tekproxy, on 05/12/2008, -0/+0I must have worn out 50 controllers playing Golden Eye (the joystick would just get limp), it would have been awesome if I had known about this refurbishing technique a few years ago when I and Herb were better friends.
- Pillage, on 05/11/2008, -1/+31It would be nice to get a few decent platformers on the 360.
- ritzcracker, on 05/12/2008, -0/+6I would kill for another Conker's Bad Fur Day
- HappyScrappy, on 05/11/2008, -11/+4Doesn't matter. There's no one left at RARE who knows what they are doing. Viva was the last thing the founders worked on, and it's the only game from RARE worth playing since the N64 era.
- Repeater2000, on 05/11/2008, -2/+5Oh really, let's take a look at the original's credits and see what the team is up to now:
heres the banjo kazooi credits:

And as I mentioned below. The credits for Perfect Dark 0 and Kameo are 3 years old now. That's a long time. - bagelmaster, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Oh god, I saw a screenshot there saying the game was made in 1998. 10 years ago... I remember buying this game when it first came out. I suddenly feel much older.
- HappyScrappy, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3I said founders.
- Repeater2000, on 05/11/2008, -2/+5Oh really, let's take a look at the original's credits and see what the team is up to now:
- kaythecraven, on 05/11/2008, -3/+50Looks sweet. The Kazooie games were some of my favorite on the 64.
[reminisces about the days of old] - D14BL0, on 05/11/2008, -2/+43Eekum bokum!
- sroop, on 05/12/2008, -0/+4DEEJOWMON!

- cl2yp71c, on 05/11/2008, -0/+16Time to download the N64 emulator and relive my glorious childhood.
- Repeater2000, on 05/11/2008, -2/+69BTW, the original Banjo Team are still with Rare:

Eveline Novakovic (sound effects) sounds effects for viva pinata & kameo- HappyScrappy, on 05/12/2008, -9/+2Perfect Dark 0 and Kameo were finished up about 3 years ago. Things can change in 3 years.
- Repeater2000, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9Yes, and guess which project started work a little over 3 years ago?
- HappyScrappy, on 05/12/2008, -8/+2And?
So if these people were there on day 1 but left on day 2, that would mean what?- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3stop speculating already. no one cares.
- HappyScrappy, on 05/12/2008, -8/+2And?
- Repeater2000, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9Yes, and guess which project started work a little over 3 years ago?
- AmICoolNow, on 05/12/2008, -0/+7Thank God! The game won't be butchered.
- iSamurai, on 05/12/2008, -0/+6So basically the only good game out of Rare in a while is the one made by the banjo guys...That adds hope to this project
- HappyScrappy, on 05/12/2008, -9/+2Perfect Dark 0 and Kameo were finished up about 3 years ago. Things can change in 3 years.
- mrblaack, on 05/11/2008, -17/+7boy, they're really pushing the limits of the 360 with those graphics....from 10 years ago.
- jmnz, on 05/12/2008, -4/+3Its a leaked screenshot - dont expect it to be so polished
- HappyScrappy, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3Same folks who brought you Kameo ... from 10 years ago.
- mrblaack, on 05/12/2008, -2/+1what a winner that turd out to be. I hope this is a cross platform development because being able to count the polys on those models is not a plus.
- methos75, on 05/12/2008, -4/+7WTF, That game looks amazing, compare those shots to Ratchet on the PS3 and its clear Banjo crushes it.
- Arkz, on 05/12/2008, -1/+3I own Ratchet on the PS3 and you're right these screens really put it to shame, the 360 has always had the edge in graphics compared to the PS3, this game looks awesome, R&C was a bit of a disappointment to me.. and for some reason made me feel all dizzy n weird if i played for like an hour or more at a time lol
- grat2001, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Your nuts! I too have R&C and it looks much better than what I just saw. Don't forget that most people compared R&C FTOD to Pixar when it was first seen and released. As of this posting, I'm the only one to even type the word.
- NightzRain, on 05/12/2008, -2/+6I love Banjo. He started in my favorite 64 games. Can't wait to see if it's going to be any good.
- cbizzle, on 05/12/2008, -9/+8Eekum Bokum!
- GinaJuice, on 05/12/2008, -2/+16Its sad to see Rare these days and what they've become since the Nintendo era. Banjo-Kazooie brings some of my fondest gaming memories from the N64 days. God loved those games.
I really hope this game doesn't suck. If its any good it will be a system seller for me. But judging Rare's record lately... : ( - Outsanity, on 05/12/2008, -23/+35am i the only who thinks B-K 3 (maybe Conker's BFD and Perfect Dark) would be better on the Wii than Xbox?
- bagboyrebel, on 05/12/2008, -3/+10Microsoft owns Rare, and Banjo is one of their best franchises, so I doubt that would happen. And as for Conker, I doubt Nintendo would ever allow another game like that on their console since they weren't even happy about the first one.
- estvir, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3What makes you think that?
- Katana314, on 05/12/2008, -4/+9All it needs is a joystick. I fail to see how the Wii would make it better.
- posure, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9And make me turn my Wii on? How dare you.
- sheeprscary, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1to be honest id go with the 360 over wii just for the graphics... also banjo required a lot of different buttons for different moves and the wii doesnt really have many buttons to play with
- dbsmoker, on 05/12/2008, -0/+8Looks great, hope it's as fun as it looks. The first Banjo for N64 was a lotta fun back in the day, but times have changed and I hope they realize that. I hope they can keep us hardcore gamers happy- not just the casual gamers.
- geebus12, on 05/12/2008, -4/+5Wow that looks incredible.
- Jo9100, on 05/12/2008, -12/+4okay but can someone tell me how to correctly pronounce Rareware?
- Zaneris, on 05/12/2008, -0/+7Rare... and um... ware... y'know, like software?
- jrbrewin, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2Ra! Re! Wah-Re-Oh!
(if you're japanese)
- epborden, on 05/12/2008, -4/+2Can't get past this snorgtees picture on the right...mmm
- graemee, on 05/12/2008, -8/+3CUE the RROD, never mind the Team America preview video did that last night.
- stalzdiggity, on 05/12/2008, -6/+1sucks how its only 2
- micman52, on 05/12/2008, -1/+15Yes! This game must hold the secret to the ever elusive Stop N' Swop!!!
- psykiv, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3ctrl + f
s-t-o-p- -n-'- - s-w-o-p
Digg
- psykiv, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3ctrl + f
- garionw, on 05/12/2008, -9/+5If only it was on the wii....
- DavidGX, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2It would look like ***** and have gimmicky motion controls. (This is coming from a Wii fan/owner, btw)
- Chainheart, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2DOO-WOP!
- Tigergrape, on 05/12/2008, -1/+9NEW STUFF IS ALWAYS LEAKED!
Did these screenshots get released to the press, i think they did. Theres no leak.
! - Frozenlynx, on 05/12/2008, -2/+13Banjo looks awfully ugly in that top picture
- xmod3, on 05/12/2008, -18/+4Looks like sh!t compared to Rachet & Clank for the ps3.
- Arkz, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2were your eyes shut while playing R&C? i own it and can say without a doubt that this looks significantly better
- xmod3, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1@Arkz: your tv is probably a piece of sh!t.
- eazhar, on 05/12/2008, -1/+8okay sell HAL to MS so we can get mother 3 and 4?
- MasterPlayer, on 05/12/2008, -1/+7Rare, please don't ***** up one of my favorite game franchises growing up!
- Tw3ek, on 05/12/2008, -5/+2Why on earth did they choose to continue with that character model?
- johnnyboy426, on 05/12/2008, -6/+2OMG i used to play that game on N64 like 10 years ago.
- Chebsi, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2The game isn't even out yet...
- mult1task, on 05/12/2008, -7/+5I wish they would of never stopped developing for Nintendo.
- Groovester, on 05/12/2008, -6/+3Graphics (going by the screens) look decently on par with Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction but they just don't elicit the same sense of exploration
- 3sicasity, on 05/12/2008, -3/+1It doesn't even look close

There's still time for improvement, though. - EDmAN, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1I disagree, Banjo looks shinier, (as does about every 360 game, I think that the 360 only has two modes of lighting, shiny and "that makes my eyes burn"), but R&C definitely looked more like a CG animated movie. And why did they make banjo's legs look like gumbie's?

- TastyLamp, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Square bear!
- SonnyJoeFoxx, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2Couldn't be more excited. It's been too long. This full-blown sequel will be the best yet (optimism speaking)!
- noname500, on 05/12/2008, -1/+2This is definitely a system seller for me, if it was anything as good as the original ones. I don't think I'm the only one who throughly enjoyed the Banjo games as a kid.
- diskit, on 05/12/2008, -0/+2Yes, "leaked".
- ProtossX, on 05/12/2008, -17/+5Wow those graphics look ***** ugly just compare those screenshots to rachet and clank n the ps3 this game is ***** things should look better then that this is 2008 rachet an clank is over a year old already just wow how could u release an ugly turd like this
Rare sucks, just let real companies like SoE and Rockstar make the great games rare u suck blls now i'd be embarassed to own a 360 with crappy ass grphics like viva pinata an now this crap total crap crap rare keep living in rachet an clanks shadow this looks so ugly- Shissy, on 05/12/2008, -3/+4You are thee biggest faggit on Digg, good job. Anyone that thinks graphics are more important that gameplay in a cartoony game is a dumbass. A game like Banjo Kazooie doesn't need amazing graphics too be good. It could have the same engine from the N64 games and still be completely amazing.
Inb4 your the biggest faggit on Digg.- ProtossX, on 05/12/2008, -5/+2if it can use the same graphics as a n64 game then why doesn't rare just make a XBLA or a Wii virtual console title of it instead of trying to spinoff these horrid graphics for a 60 dollar new game i wouldnt even pay for this on the wii the graphics look awful
this isn't xbox 360 quality like a CoD 4 this game should be in the bargain bin rachet an clank ToD has much better graphics then this an its A CARTOONY fun gameplay game like banjo but heres the thing the arists did more work on the graphics an the game deserves its price point not this crap it should be 10 dollars on the virtual console or xbla- Syric, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3If you're this up in arms about some leaked concept art/test shots, then I hope you never mate.

- xXGeechXx, on 05/12/2008, -0/+3I don't get how you can make a comparison over two very unrevealing screen shots

- Lochie, on 05/12/2008, -1/+5I'll probably buy a 360 for this.
- PainToad, on 05/12/2008, -1/+4Times like this I'm glad I have wii60
- BrownManUPS, on 05/12/2008, -2/+3Finally, the mystery of Stop and Swap will be ... well actually probably even more complicated.
- joshuagor44, on 05/12/2008, -1/+18Is it a racing game? At least it looks pretty...

- Elliuotatar, on 05/12/2008, -0/+5What the hell does Banjo need a plane for? Isn't his whole thing that Mumbo turns him into various creatures with different abilities, resulting in varies gameplay? If they've gone and changed it so Banjo just rides in some kind of transforming vehicle, then this isn't gonna be worth playing at all. It'll be like every other vehicle based game out there already.
Graphics look like crap anyway. The design of Banjo and Tooie are cold and lack character. Their entire world, inclusing themselves is no longer as bright and colorful as it was. And is that the best they can do for a fur shader? Might as well have left it off.- sheeprscary, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1how strange i dont recall the character 'tooie'...
- Elliuotatar, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1Yes of course you're right, I was thinking of the title of the second game when I said that. KAZOOIE.

- hufferstl, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1With all these vehicle shots, those "wii-like" controller rumors are gaining credibility.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 05/12/2008, -3/+5Man, am I the only one who thinks this HD approach looks horrible on this franchise? It seems to have lost a lot of it's old character and charm in the name of giving everything an ultra-high polygon count and bump-mapping/HDR *****. Not every game NEEDS to push the console to the absolute limit. Then on top of that it seems they were so pre-occupied making lovable characters of old look like creepy, high-def shadows of themselves that they decided to just throw a repeating texture on the ground and call it good. The trees and paths in that environment look pretty awful. Everything generally seems to lack any measure of detail and seems almost lazily slapped together. imho.
Hopefully the game play and writing will still be solid and shine through anyways, Then again, it's still pretty early, and perhaps these are just symptoms of a work in progress. I sure hope so because these screen shots are practically embarrassing if you ask me.
